  1. So, how much more would a Fusion Energi be over the regular Hybrid model considering the tax credit? Seems like the base price of the FFE was 10K plus over the base price of the FFH - you'd still have to pay that up front, right? Would you have to wait until next spring to get your credit back? After reading a an article last November that compared the CMax Energi vs the regular Hybrid model, the authors felt that most people. based on the way they drive, wouldn't make back the additional cost of the Energi model in fuel savings, so they recommended the regular Hybrid model instead. I talked my husband out of waiting for the Fusion Energi as a result, and we got the FFH instead (which we both absolutely love).
  2. Ordered up a dash cover, hope it looks good. Hate a plain dashboard, and found a company that had them for the 2013 FFH. Wish Ford had one in their official accessories, I'd have bought it from them. Will have to let you all know how it looks when it arrives.
  3. Oh, I think they're awesome, but my hubby just said 'hmmmm'. Don't think he'll let me do something like that to ours, but I really like them especially on your white FFH!
  4. Hubby managed 50.3 MPG on the drive home from work today (he's getting a little better at this). Best tank we've had was just a hair over 40 MPG.
  5. 1974 Ford Maverick (purchased used, first car) 1980 Pontiac Phoenix (used) 1987 Pontiac Sunbird (used) 1993 Saturn SL2 (first new car) 1997 Chevy Silverado PU (new; hubby's truck) 2002 Saturn L300 (new; totaled while on vacation June 2005) 2005 Saturn VUE (new) 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE (new) Still have the Chevy truck, the VUE, and of course, the '13 FFH.
  6. LOL ace, too funny! I haven't seen that graph option - will have to look for it next time I get to drive!
  7. It doesn't seem to bother my husband (he's the primary driver of our '13 FFH), but it does bug me. We had an issue with our 2005 Saturn VUE's front windshield, a blurry patch, so they replaced it. Not as much of an issue being the back window, but I wish it weren't there.
  8. Love your MPG, ace. I have a mix of freeway driving and surface streets on my commute. Never bumper-to-bumper, but sometimes slows to 40 - 45 in spots. Going to work is a slow uphill drive, 40 minutes typically - 1540 feet to 2600 feet.elevation, so most of the morning commute is using ICE, not much in EV mode. 54.4 mpg on the drive home today - mostly in EV mode until hitting the freeway. Our mileage is better when I drive (I drove home today) - I pay more attention to the coach and maximize the time in EV as much as possible, but hubby usually drives (we work at same school) and he's got a heavy foot.
  9. Does anyone else have this with their rear window on the 2013 FFH? I noticed that the glass isn't smooth optically in a couple of spots - you get a distortion in the glass when looking through the window via the rear view mirror. It happens between a couple of the defrost wires. I don't remember seeing anything like that on the only other car I've owned that had the defrost wires in the window (a 1993 Saturn SL2).
  10. I had a 1993 Saturn SL2 that had the defrost in the back window. I had the windows tinted before we took delivery, and I did end up having the back window redone several years later when the film started to bubble. There was no problem with the defrost embedded into the window when they did the retint.
  11. Am seeing more and more 2013 Fusions on the road. We have three in our neighborhood! On our trip to Vegas in early March, finally saw the Bordeaux Red one up close (very pretty). On that trip we also saw several Sterling Gray like ours, a Deep Impact Blue, a couple whites, a couple blacks, a couple Ingot Silvers, Still haven't seen a Ruby Red or Ice Storm one. Sorry if you have one, but the Gingerale one IMHO is the ugliest color you could get. Saw one that color when visiting Joshua Tree National Park in February - yuk!
  12. Four out of our last five fill-ups have been above our current average mpg of 37.042 (calculated) - all four were at 39.0+ mpg. Best mpg on one tank was 40.806. MPG is slowly increasing - will be interesting to see how things go as we move into spring and summer.
  13. We've only used the Hill Descent Control a few times, and it does change the sound of the car, but I don't think it's like what ace described in the post above. My husband was driving (coming down from Lake Arrowhead on Highway 18 into San Bernardino, CA), so I don't know if he reached the point with the battery showing a full charge or not. Didn't notice anything other than the typical noise it makes when it's engaged.
  14. How about reminding everyone how to find the build date of their vehicle?
  15. Has anyone else had issues with the Climate system on their 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid? It likes to come on with the fan at full power, which irritates my husband to no end.
  16. They need to install a new SD card for the NAV, which should be free from the dealership you bought the car from, and then they can update to 3.5.1. I got our local dealer to do this for me in December - and I didn't buy the car from them. Still had it done for free.
  17. Really loving our 2013 FFH, but kinda wish we'd gotten the lane changing system too. From what I heard, it gives you the front park assist view, and I sure could use that. 1.5 months of ownership, and I still don't have a good feel for where the front of my car is when I'm parking.
  18. I got $500 customer cash that we added to the $3000 down we paid. This discount was due to internet pricing that they honored even though the internet guy wasn't working the night we came in and purchased the car. It was nice as I know it's rare to get any discount on a hybrid.
  19. LOL! I did get a 66+ mpg segment twice at normal speeds, combined freeway and regular around town driving, staying with the flow of traffic at all times.
  20. It took a few weeks for ours to learn home. Each day on the way home, we swing by our UPS Store box, and the car has also learned that location. It still hasn't figured out that I go to the same place five times a day for work, though - and it's had six weeks to learn that. Still hoping...
  21. I knew you'd get better mpg in the summer months, but that's a pretty considerable amount. I've had a few great trip segments here and there, but overall, I'm still under 37 MPG after 3000 miles. I'd recommend everyone use FUELLY and copy the script into their signatures here - it's great to see what MPG people are really getting, and over how many fuel-ups as I look through the forums. I also use an Android app called aCar to track my mileage on my tablet. It will also help you keep track of service you have done on your car. There's a free version, plus a pay one. I decided to buy the full app after using it for a couple of weeks. It gives you lots of stats in addition to your mileage, and much of it can be in graph format. Part of the issue with our MPG is I do a better job driving hybrid than my hubby does, but he does most of the driving as we work at the same school site and I make a better passenger than he does ;)
  22. Ok, DUH, semi-senior moment there... makes perfect sense!! (Why didn't I think of that?)
  23. That's rather respectable! I can't believe I got a trip from work to downtown where I live (30+ miles) with 66+ MPG!! Then there was dinner on Friday night, about 10 miles to the restaurant, 73.8 MPG!! Wish I had a picture of that!
