  1. From the album: GrayStrider - Our 2013 FFH

Made a stop at our local Walgreens before making the trip down to visit my mom. Couldn't believe what I saw when I parked after the trip, so had to take a picture. First time I've seen a trip post a 100+ number. AC was on, fan on low, cooling to 73 degrees. It was upper 80s outside. Trip was mostly down hill. Return trip was 30.6 mpg for the full 10.1 mile trip home.
  2. Wow, looking at your 'Ruby Begonia' numbers, I'm impressed!! 47.8 mpg average over 36 fuel-ups is amazing!! I would love to break into the 40 mpg range as an average.
  3. I'm in not so cold So Cal, and am only getting just above 37 MPG from my build 1 FFH. Anything they can do to improve the MPG sounds good to me. We'll be one of the guinea pigs for the forum!
  4. Just wondering why you chose the regular hybrid and not the Energi model? For us, it was the additional cost - we didn't feel we'd recoup the extra cost of the vehicle in the gas savings. We have a 34 mile drive to work and there is no place to charge the car at work. An article I read comparing the C-Max hybrid model vs. Energi model suggested that the Energi model would be a good fit for those who typically travel 20 miles or less per trip, and recommended the regular hybrid for the typical driver who had a longer commute.
  5. LOL, I was going to put a note in my post about that, to please excuse the prints, but hit 'post' before I'd added it. I do have an extra ZAGG Invisible Shield screen for my Samsung 7" tablet that we didn't use. I really hated the one we put on my tablet, so we took it off. Was expecting this one to go on my husband's tablet, but after experimenting with mine, we decided to go sans-screen. Anyone ever use that product on their car touchscreen? It might fit if we cut it down a bit.
  6. Yes, less glare is true - I did notice that after adding the dash mat.
  7. Hee, hee, just watched the movie last week, totally got that reference as soon as I saw it!
  8. Two issues: First was the MFT/Sync update, which required a trip to the dealer to get a new nav chip. We purchased the car from a dealer further from our desired dealer, as they had the one in stock that I wanted, but we are having service done at the Ford dealership that's a quick 10 minutes away. Had to get special permission from Ford (or so I was told) for the nearby dealer to install the new nav SD card without cost to me, which I felt was odd, but it was taken care of. It took them a second day to properly get the update done, however. Second issue was the gear shift knob being the wrong one, and that was a pretty quick fix as they ordered the part for me and it was ready to be installed when I brought in the car.
  9. We got the DashMat Suede Mat, in black, for our 2013 FFH. My husband and I both like it. It looks more gray in the picture, but it's actually black.
  10. My husband had this issue when he drove our FFH home from the dealership. It was night after all of the final paperwork was signed, and he couldn't figure out how to turn off the back seat dome light during the 20 minute drive home. Turns out the switch for this is actually up by the map lights. We had to look at the owner's manual when we got home to find how to turn it off.
  11. Finally got a picture of the dash mat to post. Although it appears gray in the picture, it's actually black. Kinda like it, even if it's 'so 90's'. ;)

  14. Yup, no fair if it's in an Energi! Are you all getting close to 108 equivalent MPG like's being advertised?
  15. Sitting in the back seat was one of the first things I did when we looked at our FFH when it was on the lot. I have two teenagers and wanted to make sure there'd be enough leg room. They find it comfortable to ride in. My brother is a Camry owner and is considering a hybrid for his next vehicle. He's 6' 4 1/2" so headroom and being able to completely stretch out his legs is always a challenge. He sat in our FFH, slid the seat back, and was amazed that he could actually straighten his legs, and his head wasn't touching the roof. It's making him reconsider Ford.
  16. Our 15,000 + includes a trip from So Cal to Las Vegas last spring. I've had a lot of short trips each day this summer, so when I head out to the driveway, I look at our FFH, then to our VUE, and back to the Ford, and I take the Fusion. LOVE driving it, and can't beat the roughly 45+ MPG I'm getting on that 20 mile round trip each day. That'd be 17 MPG in the VUE!
  17. We've had our FFH since the end of November, and just passed the 15,000 mile mark. That equates to 68 miles per day on average, according to my aCar app on my Samsung tablet, with 7 months and 10 days of ownership. How many miles have you put on your FFH?
  18. Welcome and enjoy your new FFH! We have three in our neighborhood - ours was the first (gray), then around the corner a month later was a silver one, and in between is a new black one. Ours is the only hybrid of the group, though. I love ours, such a comfortable ride, and we're getting 20+ mpg better than our other car, a 2005 Saturn VUE (which daughter will be driving to HS next year).
  19. I've managed 60+ for a 20 mile (round trip) drive. The drive there was mostly down hill. I followed the same exact route coming home. The drive was in the evening, but it was a bit warm and I did have the AC on a low fan setting. Climate was set to 72 degrees. I worked to stay at the posted road speed on the flat/uphill sections, but did get above the posted speed on one big downhill section. I have one of the first build FFH's and although our car shows 38.0 mpg, it's actually 37.3 mpg when calculated by Fuelly and by my aCar app. I do pretty well managing 40+ mpg regularly - if I could just get my heavy-footed husband to drive hybrid better, our overall mpg would be a bit better.
  20. Something has to be wrong... I can stay in EV mode as long as it's not too steep of a climb when I'm accelerating.
  21. We took delivery on November 28, so I assume we have a Job 1 build on our FFH. Checked the Ford Owner site tonight after reading here and found this: Title: FUEL DELIVERY MODULE REPLACEMENT A recall is an action by the Company to remedy a safety or emissions-related concern related to a vehicle defect or regulatory requirement. It may require that you return your vehicle to the dealer for service. If your vehicle is not affected, it may be because it was built at a different time or using a different part than the affected vehicles.
  22. Our trial subscription ended May 28. Really missed the traffic overlay with Navigation, so after learning here that you coutd add that service alone (hate the treble/tin sound of the Sirius Radio, so not interested in that again), I resubscribed to Sirius Traffic tonight. They charged $44.01 for a 12-month, auto renew subscription (with no reactivation fee). I considered adding the Travel Link part for another $2 a month, but decided against it - we hardly used that feature during the trial subscription. I can get gas prices with the POI feature, which is a non-Sirius feature, so we're good to go.
  23. I can imagine how anxious you were, to get so close to having it, and then to have to wait even more. So glad yoiu were able to finally get your car!! It's a beauty!
