My HCH was the best car I ever owned. The dealer replaced the EGR valve while it was still under warranty and I replaced the front brake pads at 180,000 miles. Other than that it was just tires, filters, oil and two 12 V batteries. Still had the original rear brake shoes, which were about ready to be replaced. Still had the original spark plugs. Lifetime mpg, calculated at the pump, was a little over 46 and still climbing, ever so slowly, at 214,000 when I traded it in on the MMH. Now we are spoiled to the larger MMH. I see you are in OK. We live in Ponca City. Since we retired we spend our winters in Rockport TX. It's usually about 20 degrees or so warmer down here in the winter, but today was warmer up there than down here. Jokes on us today. LOL!

Thanks for the reply. You're right. I guess luck has something to do with it. They will eventually get mine fixed and then I'll be happy again. I just hope it doesn't take all summer. Was it the electric motor or the gas engine that had to be replaced in the HCH?

I have a 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid, with 53,000 miles. We traded a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid, with 214,000 miles, in on the MMH in June 2010. The MMH is much roomier, quieter and rides better than the HCH and gets gas mileage near that of the HCH. Our Lifetime MPG, figured at the pump is 41.44. The long term mpg on the dash shows a very optimistic 45.3 and has never been reset. We have loved this car since day one. BUT,,,, About 2 weeks ago, the Travel Link and Navigation stopped working. The dealer said the radio needed to be replaced and they would order it. The next morning, the dealer service writer called me back and said, no radios available anywhere, so they would have to pull mine out and send it in to be repaired. My extended warranty will pay for it, but I'm very disappointed that it is broken and makes me wonder, what's next. I guess the trouble free HCH spoiled me. Drive Safe Rick
