Bought gas today at $2.299, about 2 hours later my mom went to the same station, price is now $2.799. All the other stations are also up to $2.799. Fifty cent jump in gas prices.

They are making money of two struggling refineries in the Chicago area plus summer blend switch that's why prices have been going up like crazy.

Best prices in Vegas are at Sam's Club & Costco ($2.54) but average seems to be about $2.69.

A month ago Sunoco here was $2.27 for 87 octane. It's been going up but not 50 cents in one day ... it hit 2.59 and has dropped to 2.55 as of this morning.

 

There is a Kwikfill in N. Syracuse that typically runs 10-15 cents/gallon cheaper so if I'm in that area I tank up there.

Just got a 'customer experience' factory update to software (i think) was a recall of some kind.

My gas mileage has jumped from 39 to 42 (as measured by fuely) finaly feels right.

My car display says "avg 44", that is great to see!

I think it is $2.17 in Atlanta Area, got 50mpg on last tank and temps are looking up. :shift: :)

Right across the border prices have stayed the same, about $2.329. I had to drive my truck today because of the snow storm. 15.5 MPG, OUCH! But better than than getting stuck in the Fusion, having to be towed out, and possible damage to the car from the deep snow.

If you believe the latest articles in the media, then much of the storage facilities for crude oil (like Cushing OK) are nearing capacity. Once these storage facilities are full, then the oil will have to be sold off into a market that is already over supplied which may result in oil falling to the $20.00/barrel range.

We are having one of the warmest winters since I've been here in southern NV. There have only been a handful of nights where the temps have gotten close to or below freezing. The coolest highs have generally been at least in the mid 50's. The past month the highs have generally been in the low 70's to mid 80's. Spring and fall are the best times of year here for comfortable weather. Summer is hellishly hot, and winter (usually) can have some chilly temps for this part of the country.

At least we haven't needed the heat or a/c lately, so we can save a little money for the daily 100+ degree stretch from June through September. That's when I dread getting the electricity bill.

That's why I switched to the equal payment plan for both gas & electric. No huge bills and you know exactly what your bill will be every month. ☺
