OEM Keyless Entry Keypad - $85!

Recommended Posts

Exactly. I don't have the procedures in front of me, but they're in the owner's manual, and it's very easy to do.

Also, I wouldn't worry about the battery. I had one on my '05 Escape for three years. I sold the keypad to someone else who it still using it with the original battery.

there's no more security risk with a keypad than there is without one. it's just like lock-picking... thieves don't pick locks, it's not worth the time it takes to do it. the same is true for figuring out a key code.

the Fusion is not an expensive car, chances are it will get broken into to steal items out of it, not to steal the car itself. for this reason the thief will simply smash the window, grab whatever they want to steal, and walk away. they're not going to sit there like a fool punching in random numbers hoping to get lucky.

in the owner's manual, it states that the battery is not replaceable and simply tells you to buy a new keypad when the battery dies.

it obviously has a replaceable battery inside, but the unit is basically glued together to keep water out. I'm not sure how easy it would be to open the unit up without breaking apart. I suppose it depends on what is stronger (the plastic or the glue). If you could get it open without breaking it then you could replace the battery and glue it back together, otherwise you will have have buy a new one.

my 2008 Milan comes with that installed already, i live in UAE-DUBAI i dunno if we get a total different specification that u guys do..

i use the keypad its pretty good here, dubai is real sunny, so wen i wanna go somewhere for a quick 15 mins or so, id just leave the car running and lock it, for i need the car to stay cool.. its pretty useful..
