Great Deal?

I am just now ready to switch from research mode to buy mode. I am thinking I want to get the SE Hybrid with the Luxury package in Tectonic silver. I happened to pull up my local dealers web site and see they now have a 2015 Hybrid Ty with an advertised sale price of $26,990. Is that not a tremendous price for that car? I mean MSRP is $33,855. What am I missing?

That's a good deal, probably includes some small rebates like military or college for which you may not qualify, and freight is likely not included, but looks like a good price. Go take a look and see how many miles it has on it, as it could be a dealer demo that has never been sold but has been driven around by the dealer a bit.

I bought a demo car with just over 2000 km on it that was 16 months old, for $29,998 CAD (MSRP would've been around $37.5k CAD before taxes) before trade-in and taxes. It was an SE model with a moonroof, navigation, 18" wheels, front and rear sensors, heated leather seats with memory, and the active park assist. Not "fully loaded" but satisfactory and enough to wow lots of people.

 

Hopefully your deal is as killer as mine was. I've noticed that generally Fords depreciate faster than Japanese brands do, despite Ford quality having shot up over the last few years. That kind of price cut doesn't sound too shady at all.

Went and looked at it. Turns out that price is with some incentives I don't qualify for like recent collage grad, military, etc. I do still qualify for $3,000. in rebates, or $1000. and 0%. I just do not like Bronze Fire, let alone paying extra for it! I am waiting for the wifes workmans comp settlement anyday now. hopefully it will be done by 3/2/15 so I can get these incentives. If so I will be looking for a plain HyTi in Tectonic silver with the sofft ceramic interior. Will consider other colors, but really did like the ceramic interior when I saw it in person.

Well, what I would want on it for a car of Titanium level is a little more like this (see attached window sticker) although I could do without the moonroof if I had to. I used to open the one on my 2012 gas Fusion all the time on the way to work and the way home during the warmer months (which is about half the year here in Vegas). The built in garage door opener was just a bonus. I would think in Pittsburgh you might want/like heated & cooled seats and maybe a heated steering wheel. I have really gotten used to the Adaptive Cruise and would buy it again and I think I would like the driver assist package (LKS/BLIS). This is just an example of equipment I would want, not necessarily the color combo. I like my Ruby Red Hybrid SE but would prefer the Soft Ceramic interior over the charcoal black that I have, so if I could find a Titanium like that, that's what I would want. Different strokes for different folks! :)

I agree the garage door opener would be a nice plus. I have the moon roof on my Avalon, and am finding with my bad ear it is almost impossible to hear anybody talking to me or the radio when it is open. I did enjoy it until the hearing problem started but find I almost never open it anymore. The titanium has heated seats and I do not desire cooled seats. So far as the adaptive cruise and lane departure, and bliss, I test drove the new Impala and a couple other cars with that stuff on it and I really found them to be more distracting and annoying then helpful. As you said different things for different people, but I find the Titanium without anything added to be layed out just right for me.

So, you qualify for 3K in incentives leaving your price at $30,855 (based on MSRP). Of course you should insist on dealing from the invoice price which will bring it down a little, but True Car says it's estimate for your zip code 15010 is $29,138 for that car equipped as it is. I don't see how they came up with $6865 in "available savings" to get to that price of $26,990. There's no way anyone will qualify for enough incentives to get THAT discount! Another marketing ploy to get you into the dealership. I would be a little more inclined to believe True Car and if you really want a HyTi, you should use them to get one at a price that's reasonable and believable, just the way you want it equipped. Just sayin'! Happy hunting! :)

Personally, I have found that True Car pricing is about $1000 below invoice (at least on a 2015 HyTi that they had on the lot and I priced exactly as equipped with True Car) and my regular salesman told me that he could not beat that and I believed him.

If you look around you can find some codes for Xplan pricing. Once you find it you can log into the Ford site and build and price a car based on Xplan prices.

I have done all kinds of searches to try to find codes. I even tried to get my own number but the site to do it will not open. My co worker said he had to havee dealer look up his pin. Can anybody give me better instructions as to how to find the X Plan price so I can compar3e to True Car?

Note that the X-plan can also save the buyer hundreds of dollars on doc processing fees, since the dealer is restricted by Ford to charge only $100 for doc fees on X-plan purchases.

That one posted by the OP is several thousand below X plan, so it wont always save you money.

We did better than X Plan each time through negotiations with the dealer. MN Doc Fee is limited to $75 so we don't save anything there. X Plan is great for those who don't want to haggle and just want a decent deal. I find haggling to be great fun and a challenge that I enjoy.

 

I really like the advanced safety features such as Lane Keep Assist, Auto High Beams & Rain-Sensing Wipers.
