Annoying windshield stone chips

I'm surprised that I couldn't find a thread anywhere about windshield chips. About 20 minutes ago a semi passed us near Channing, TX and kicked up a stone that put a chip in the windshield. We have glass coverage through Geico and the chip will be repaired on Tuesday. But it's so annoying. In the 3.5 years my wife and I have been married this is the 4th chip that Geico will be repairing. All 4 have happened while she has been driving lol

 

Buying glass coverage is a no-brainer for us.

That sucks but at least nowadays they can easily repair such chips as long they aren't too large.

With my last two cars I had 3 windshields replaced in one and 2 in the other.

One of the windshields was on my Mustang GT, got caught in a 80 mph sandstorm in guess where - Palm Desert, where you just left. That cost $3,500 to fix, new windshield/wipers/headlights/grille/hood scoop, bumper and repaint the front of the car and buff the rest.

I had the big rear window completely disintegrate when I slammed the trunk on my Crown Vic, it was a super hot day (110F+) with the car parked in the sun.

Yep, I get the glass coverage.

I have a couple surface chips on the T, dont know if they can be repaired, but bullseyes I found a repair kit DIY at NAPA that works pretty good. I have done 3 of them myself and you cannot see the repair.
