FYI: Total Mileage on Trip 2 Gauge rolls over on my 2014 FFH

Recommended Posts

I am using the Trip 2 gauge on my 2014 FFH as my Lifetime Summary replacement. After I reached 10,000 miles, I noticed the mileage rolled over on the Trip 2 gauge (pic below). It has been discussed previously in these FFH forums about the fact that the EV miles on the Trip 2 gauge rolls over really quickly, once it reaches 1,000 miles of EV.

I will still be able to use the Trip 2 gauge for my Lifetime Summary, since the odometer at the bottom continues to show my total miles. If you were to add 10,000 to the 688.7 miles value shown in my pic, it adds up to 10,688.7. The odometer at the bottom of the pic shows 10691.2 miles, but that difference between my Trip 2 and the Odometer mileage (2.5 miles) has been there since day 1, when I picked up my FFH from my dealer, with only 10 miles on the odometer and the Trip 2 gauge was showing 7.5 miles at that time.

It is possible the gallons on the Trip 2 gauge may roll over too eventually, but I am almost sure my MPGs on the Trip 2 gauge will never ever roll over. ;)

Trip 2 miles rolls over at 10,000 miles

yep, they go to 9999.9 and start over again, so just tack your Odometer to it. Whats interesting is mine was never reset since the car was built and there are more tenths on the trip than the Odometer. Thats the only one I have not reset, nor plan to.

is it possible different approaches to reversing?

ex od may apply as negative or nothing and trip counts as positive?

just a thought
