If you notice carefully though, Ford is referring to "Sync 3" like a brand name, it's a complete system. Obviously you can't take software designed around a swipe-capable touchscreen and drop it into a current system.

 

But just because you won't get "Sync 3 - the system" to update your MFT vehicle, doesn't mean that future updates for MFT can't be based on the QNX platform.

I dunno I guess I'm just a little more skeptical.

 

I'm not one of those people on this forum that demands updates from Ford. I purchased the car the way it is and I can't really expect more that that. But at this rate it will most likely be 2016 at least before we even know if we get it on our 13-15's. I guess I was hoping for a miracle!

Well hopefully you are right on the second prediction I have my doubts that this will ever happen. Way to much investment to update the old HW with the new UI.

 

It's certainly possible but unlikely if you ask me.

Darn. It ain't coming to our cars. I'm a software guy, and it makes no sense to back port to different hardware. Especially if there is no money in it for Ford.
