Rain sensing wipers on 2015 Lincoln MKZ hybrid

Recommended Posts

Not sure my rain sensing wipers are working like I think they should. Coming from a Lexus GX470 with the same feature, I just left the wipers in sensing mode and it took care of the rest.

It seems not to work with delay or not at all. The window was covered with light rain but it was not sensing it. The medium setting was too fast for what was needed, so I put it on timed delay. I also had the sensing on in the dashboard menu.

Anyone else had an issues with your wipers?

I find that they are slow to respond to the initial mist if left in "Auto" all the time.

I leave mine set to OFF and the delay setting to one notch below fastest, then when I find it necessary to turn them ON they seem to respond well. In the fastest delay position, they will adjust speed upwards depending on the severity of the rain. Mine went all the way up to max. once in a horrible downpour.........and the adaptive cruise cut off too for just a minute.

I have mine at a medium setting which seems to work fine. It will wait awhile if there is a mist, but will swipe before it gets too hard to see.

We usually leave them on and at the lowest sensitivity. Sometimes when rain first starts the lowest sensitivity doesn't react quickly enough so I'll bump it up to be more sensitive. Doing that should make the wipers wipe immediately.

Hi guys,

I recommend calling into the Lincoln Client Relationship Center at 1 (800) 521-4140. They'll be able to assist further. :)
