kthejoker20 Report post Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) Scout has enabled car connect to display navigation on our mytouch screens. Sound also plays through speakers and interupts FM radio. The app sends audio and video via bluetooth stream to the mytouch system and is displayed on the LCD on our car. You can download the "scout" app from google play store. Doesn't work for iphones. Scout is telenav. This is all we got until WAZE ports over this techonolgy. But, $4 a month is cheaper then speanind $1k for new navigation system. HAVE FUN!!!!!! Easy Rider Report post Posted October 24, 2014 His first post is an advertisement for an app? What is wrong with this picture?I vote for that too. Most smart phones come with a nav. app. that is free or really cheap......considerably less than $48 a year.
kthejoker20 Report post Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) My first and last post. Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I guess there are a bunch of terds here that rather flame others instead of being productive and help out the community. If you actually read my post, instead of flaming, you will see what the hype is. Currently, there is no way to unlock navigation on the stock car radio if you didn't purchase it with the car. This is the only app that allows you to display navigation on the stock mytouch screen and integrates into the radio and override the FM radio when directions are given. You can also use the touch screen on mytouch to control the navigation. I personally HATE scout and I don't want to pay a monthly fee. But it is our only option as ford sign exclusive rights to that app via applink to work on mytouch. http://www.telenav.com/products/auto/ Scroll to the bottom on that page and read under the ford logo. md13ffhguy Report post Posted October 25, 2014 From the above link: Telenav provides three navigation products beamed-in (SYNC Services), brought-in (Ford SYNC AppLink) and built-in (MyFord Ford Touch) to Ford Motor Company. The collaboration between Ford and Telenav delivers high-quality, user-friendly experiences that are touted by technologists and consumers alike. I'm not sure this actually means it works as suggested in the OP. Seems too good to be true.
GrySql Report post Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) This is no different than discussing 'Waze', no need to jump on the OP please.Telenav Scout for Cars has an additional product called "Brought In" that uses your mobile phone to send signals to your screen in the center stack. If you didn't get a Nav in your MFT, you can use this to provide GPS on the screen, it comes from your phone's App. Scout for Cars: Brought In — Allows the in-vehicle display to interact with the Scout® mobile app via Bluetooth®, MirrorLink, USB or Wi-Fi. Welcome to the forum. :) You need to get a grip on reality......and the reality IS that your post looks VERY much like a drive-by spamming. IF you had introduced yourself first and put some of the explanation in that first post, then the situation would have been entirely different. If you do decide to stick around I hope you can refrain from calling other forum participants nasty names.
jeffo65 Report post Posted October 26, 2014 I have tried using Scout and cannot get it to show the images on the MFT. Turn by turn prompts come across the stereo but I cannot get the map images to show. Has anyone successfully been able to get the maps to show on the MFT screen? If so, what did you do. kthejoker20 Report post Posted October 28, 2014 It works great for me. The maps display directly on the MFT screen. Touch screen works to control the program on the car radio. You have to use the old Scout version 1.7.1 Scout discontinued the "car connect" feature on the update after that version. Finding 1.7.1 is really hard, have fun. jeffo65 Report post Posted October 28, 2014 Version 1.7.1 is no longer supported or available per Scout support personnel. If you know where to obtain the .apk for version 1.7.1, please let us know.
higheroctave32 Report post Posted November 26, 2014 Anybody had any luck with this? I've been searching high and low for the older APK file just to see for myself if it works and no luck so far.

jeffo65 Report post Posted November 26, 2014 Interesting information on this. http://www.telenav.com/products/auto/ Scout for Car Buil In would be what is required. Telenav provides three navigation products — beamed-in (SYNC Services), brought-in (Ford SYNC AppLink) and built-in (MyFord Ford Touch) — to Ford Motor Company. The collaboration between Ford and Telenav delivers high-quality, user-friendly experiences that are touted by technologists and consumers alike. Now to find someone who this works for and see an actual picture of it on the MFT.
md13ffhguy Report post Posted November 26, 2014 I'm still trying to comprehend how an app from a device would override the system and display on the dash screen while the vehicle is in motion. What kind of connection would this be? Video over Bluetooth? RCA jacks? USB? What input would one select in MFT? There is no provision for any of this in current versions of MFT, as far as I can tell.

There is no provision for any of this in current versions of MFT, as far as I can tell. When trying to get the wireless feature working on the FFH we discussed much of this in this long Thread.Further, I had Waze working on my MFT screen, this is what it took to do it. Plus, when you take the transmission out of the 'Park' setting it shuts the MFT display off.Not really practical.
md13ffhguy Report post Posted November 27, 2014 ^^^ Right, i remember that, which is why I said "while the vehicle is in motion..." This thread started with the premise that all that was needed was the right app, and one had finally come along. Then there was an assertion that this only worked with an old version of said app. Not that easy!

higheroctave32 Report post Posted November 29, 2014 I managed to get the 1.7.1 apk from the someone on the Scout forum, though I believe that functionality has been disabled as I can't find any option for "Car Connect" If anyone cares to give it a whirl, just p.m. me and I will email it to you. I think it may have only worked for non MFT cars anyway.
