The silliest is the Brits calling a fender a wing. Excuse me? Wings are best served with hot sauce, not on a car. :)

To get back on topic...

I ran a VHR today and, low and behold, this recall showed up as being needed! I don't recall (no pun intended) ever seeing any of the previous recalls/field actions being shown on my VHR. :)

I had this done late Wednesday. So far MPG is unchanged, but it has been colder, and I don't have records from last year when temps were what they are now, plus I have new tires.  One thing I have noticed, and I know it is not the new tires since they were on a week prior to the updates, the car now slows more when I let completely off the throttle.  Where I would normally take my foot off to coast, now if I do that the car slows down much quicker so I am crawling by the time I get to the intersection.  It's thrown off my driving, and have to readjust when and where I lift my foot and start braking.   Since there has been no impact to MPG, its just something I have to adjust to.

One other thing to note, EV+ got erased.  Now I did have a few other modules reprogrammed too, so unsure if those module updates erased EV+ or not.

Nmadole has also have this done recently and noted an increase in MPG with his car. Now on his, he has a car very much like the first one I had, not a very good performer in the FE category. He has put snow tires on, and took a trip he has taken dozens of times and saw an increase far above any he has ever seen.  So, is it the tires, or the reprogramming that helped his?

In any case, this update appears to be one that has not harmed anyone yet.

I have noticed no difference in MPG. I also lost the saved EV+ but it is set now. It does seem to charge the battery quicker than before, but that could have been the weather temps.

Had 14E02 done a few days ago on our 2013 HyTi and had to bring the car back to Ford today.  DRIVER ASSIST no longer available.  Also, the backup camera stopped working and it required a SYNCH Factory Reset to correct.  Doing so also made a number of other settings need to be corrected.  For some reason, front and rear parking assists defaulted to OFF.

The DRIVER ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE problem is stumping the dealer, who told me that it had been seen once on a Lincoln.  They need to get with Ford and have the car for a day next week to correct it.

There have been some weird issues with updates. I don't have access to OASIS here on my cell, but there are procedures for the dealers to not break things during these updates. It sounds like your dealer may have done something incorrectly when the reprogramming the PCM.

Yeah I thought it was supposed to be a simple update, but mine also had issues with reporting a "system unavailable" for various components when running a VHR, made me wonder if they didn't clear out all codes properly - after 4-5 tries I finally got a VHR that was as expected, will have to try another one to see if it's still good.

I also had trouble after the update. My auto bright lights quit working and my rear interior light would not go off. Took it back to the dealer and they ran the update again. everything works....well sort of....the one touch windows still won't work and when you hold the window button in the up position the window automatically goes down again.

This is really ridiculous for a routine recall update to the PCM.  QA fell far short on this one.  My wife, a day after, also had the rear view camera stay on after moving from Reverse to Drive.

I think, starting with the 2013, the technology package in these cars were not ready for prime time. I think Ford skipped a beat with this one.

Regarding the complicated PCM procedure, see this.  I also added it to the locked Recall Topic.

My Dealer did it right and I had no lingering after effects. (knock on wood)

Hey guys,

I'll be happy to loop your customer service managers in on this. Just send me a PM with your VIN, mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location. Since you all seem to be having different symptoms please include them in the message. :)

For my part the TSB on the one touch windows had been so many times, my dealer and I have given up. It is not worth the repeated trips to the dealer and my having to leave the car there for the day, which causes me much inconvience. It's really not worth the trouble.

I had this done today. So far, I'm noticed nothing unusual. I did have the trunk open on its own after using the numerical pad to lock and unlock the car, but it's done that before. I'm convinced that there is still a latent bug in there somewhere that causes the trunk to open, but I cannot get it to repeat on demand.

Could it be that your key code or at least the last number is somewhat close to the number you have to press to open the trunk from the key pad?

I don't recall the number but isn't it 9 after the key code?
