I wonder why Fusions are not included.

You will probably find out this will not work with MFT/MLT cars since it most likely will use Applink. Those of us with the more expensive systems are screwed. Heck my 2005 Freestyle has Applink.

Given the article mentions most 2011-2014 Fords, that would seem to indicate it will only work with MFT/MLT. The new update 3.7 is just around the corner, I'm guessing this is part of that.

What's interesting is in the link it shows that the method of installing is through the OBDII port, not the USB port. That means it's making some adjustments to software beyond the SYNC/MFT software. Could be that the Fusion software in whatever other module it's messing with isn't compatible, but I also find it odd that it mentions the 2015 Navigator is compatible but not the Expedition.

I just reread your post, and thinking back, none of the cars that I had that had only Sync had a USB jack, so the only way to update was through OBD port. There was a 2012 Focus I rented for a while, it didn't have a USB port, but was SYNC equipped.

You must not have been looking hard enough. Every Ford that's ever been sold with Sync has a USB port. The USB port is built right into the Sync module (but what you plug into is an extension).

The 2012 Focus USB is in the center console bin (under the armrest).

My 2010 Fusion Hybrid had a USB port in the center console.

It had Sync only - no navigation.
