I have 2010 Fusion Hybrid. This week the display reset all parameters to default settings with no one touching them. It has happened at least two other times in the five years I have had the car. Anyone else?

Do you have anything plugged into the OBDII port?

A dead or disconnected 12 volt battery will reset a lot of parameters. Is that the original 12 volt battery? Mine was getting flaky after 3 years.

:) Thanks for the responses. Nothing plugged into my OBDII.

Problem with the 12 volt battery declared itself after I posted this. I was doing the software and map update for sync. Maps take 3 hours and I found the battery dead. Instructions said it was safe to finish update with the car turned off so obviously the 5 year old battery is the problem. Off to find a battery today and finish the update.

There is a patch for this that the dealer can apply. Mine did the same thing and they did the update, and all was good after that.

Thanks, that is good to know. BTW-No aftermarket battery will fit into the battery box on a Hybrid 2010-2012 Fusion. Only a Motorcraft battery has the correct case configuration to clip in on the bottom. Labor Day weekend was bad timing to find a unique battery. No one stocks them-had to wait till Tuesday when warehouses reopened.

There was a software update a few years ago about the dash resets, The battery could also have caused it. Check to see if the software is up to date. Since you had it at other times, it probably isn't.

If your trip summary doesn't read in hundredths of a gallon or you don't get a large green ready to drive icon for three seconds on the left dash during start, it hasn't been done.

Thanks. I had updated my software previously. For those who are interested the current map set update is on sale for $50 off ($150). It includes a 2 disc software update that you load before installing the maps. All went very well once I replaced my battery.
