What I don't understand is why some people still see Hybrid as something not belonging to this world.

Even with the EB engines the a Hybrid gets almost twice the MPG. Maybe it's time to switch to gal/100miles to make the difference more or less obvious.

True but you should start somewhere and I don't think it's the same issue.

 

Just put it on the EPA sticker together with the MPG like some car reviewers already do. You start to realize that we are sometimes "fight" over fractions of gallons over 100 miles.

Most of the people with guzzlers don't fill the tank because they hit $75 limit at a lot of pumps so they end up filling with a fixed amount like $20-$40 for example. I tell them that for that same $20 I can drive around 300 miles. Usually at that point the mouth drops open and I smile while walking away.

I love telling people who ask me that I can drive 500 miles on a tankful, and then put in 11 gallons to fill the tank, approximately $35. That's when their jaws drop open in disbelief.

That's what I do when talking about our electric car. I tell them that it costs us $30 per month in electricity to go about 1000 miles. I then ask them how far they can drive on $30 of gas, most ppl say they can only drive 200 miles on $30 of gas.

At the pump when queried, I say I'm doing the Summer ( or Fall, Winter or Spring ) fill-up.

I always use my coffee analogy. You like Starbucks? What is it, about $4 a cup? For every 2 gallons saved buys me one cup of coffee. Your car gets 20 MPG, mine gets 40, so for every 80 miles I drive I save enough for a cup of Starbucks.

 

The 2.0 EB Fusion Titanium gets half what the HyTi gets. Thats about 11 cups of Starbucks every fill. 44 if you like Mcdonalds.
