hybridbear Report post Posted December 7, 2014 And, at least for Energi & Electric models the dominant fob is number 2. When both fobs are in the car the car must decide which is dominant for starting and adjusting seats. 1 GrySql reacted to this
Texasota Report post Posted December 7, 2014 When you touch the door handle the car sends out a low frequency signal. The FOB responds with a VHF signal giving its serial number. The car checks its stored list of fobs and if there is a match the car is unlocked. The position of the serial number in the car's table determines what the key fob number is. The car can have a maximum of 4 IA fobs. Okay, Murphy, fess up. Are you a Ford engineer and do you perhaps share an office with Waldo? ;) 2 hybridbear and GrySql reacted to this
murphy Report post Posted December 7, 2014 Okay, Murphy, fess up. Are you a Ford engineer and do you perhaps share an office with Waldo? ;)No but I did work for Philco-Ford back in the 60s when Ford bought Philco. In 1969 they shut down Philco-Ford and I was out of a job. I know how the IA Fob works because I took the FCC registration number, that is inside of the fob, and looked it up on the FCC website. 4 hybridbear, corncobs, Texasota and 1 other reacted to this
