Carrying Bicycle Inside Ford Fusion Hybrid

Can anyone share their experience of whether an adult road or mountain bicycle with front wheel removed will fit inside a Ford Fusion Hybrid. Is the battery an obstacle in carrying a bicycle inside the car. Thanks.

I have fit a road bike in the back seat of our 2013 FFH. I took the front wheel off and laid blankets on the seat so no chain or chain ring oil would get on the seat. I have only did it once and that was before I had a rack on the car.

I tried putting a 10' kayak into mine this last Monday - no such luck.

I'm still waiting for my rack so I have been putting my mountain bike in the back seat with the front wheel removed. No issues. Just watch for those pedals when you first put it in.

I put a 27" road bike in trunk through the trunk into the backseat. Folded down the FFH smaller seat back. Forks pointed into the back seat.

BUT. I removed both wheels and loosened the front fork stem. Rotating the handlebars flat against the frame.

It was a college trip and the FFH was packed coming home.

 

Could have done it with 1 bike wheel on. But, wanted room for my rear passenger.

A pedal removing wrench will give you better options.

I didn't need to, Since I removed both wheels.

We were in Nashville and our son wanted to buy a kayak. I didn't think it would fit, but we tried anyway. Not enough room in the opening with the rear seats down. We returned later with this GMC HD 2500 turbo diesel. It fit with room to spare. :)

I can fit either of my road bikes in the trunk of the FFH as long I remove the front wheel. If I remove both wheel I can get away with just putting the driver side rear seat down. My road bikes are both 62cm frames so pretty much as big as you can get.
