jeff_h Report post Posted May 30, 2014 May 29, 2014 TO:All U.S.Ford and Lincoln Dealers SUBJECT: Advance Notice –Equipment Safety Recall 14S07 Certain 2006 through 2011 Model Year Fusion, Milan,Zephyr and MKZ Vehicles Equipped with Ford All Weather Floor Mats AFFECTED VEHICLES Certain 2006 through 2011 Model Year Fusion, Milan,Zephyr and MKZ Vehicles built at the Hermosillo Assembly Plant from Job #1, 2006 through October 31, 2010, as follows: • 37,990 Affected vehicles that were originally ordered with Custom Accessory Pre-Installed Ford All Weather Floor Mats are identified in OASIS. For a list of vehicles assigned to your dealership, visithttps://web.fsavinlists.dealerconnection.com . This information will be available on May 29, 2014. • 44,582 Sets of Ford All Weather Floor Mats were sold over-the-counter for use in affected vehicles. The vehicles these were installed in are unknown, therefore are not listed in OASIS. Note that certain Ford All Weather Floor Mats having either a single hook or double post retention design are included in this Equipment Safety Recall. REASON FOR THIS EQUIPMENT SAFETY RECALL An improperly installed Ford all weather floor mat (either not secured to the retention device, double stacked, or secured to a single retention device but grossly out of position) could move and may interfere with the accelerator pedal, potentially inhibiting its return to idle, and increasing the risk of a crash. SERVICE ACTION A complete Dealer Bulletin will be provided to dealers in July, 2014 when it is anticipated that parts ordering information and repair instructions will be available to support this equipment safety recall. Until further information is available, dealers should ensure any Ford All Weather Floor Mats in the subject vehicles are installed properly and are not double stacked. CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION Owners of record will be notified via first-class mail after repair instructions and parts ordering information have been provided to dealers.
