Dust Accumulation on Display Screen and Dash

I've noticed that both my 2013 and 2013 Fusion Hybrid Titaniums seem to have much more dust attracted tot he dash and display windows. I'm not sure if it's excessive static causing it or not.

 

Does anyone else have this same experience? Anyone got a good cleaning solution that reduces the dust problem?

Yes it's common with all new cars due in part to the trace of oils left on plastic and vinyl parts from the manufacturing process.

 

A caution, however. Any strong solvent that removes most of that oil will also tend to discolor and dry out the base material.

Dusting more often is one of the "joys" of new car ownership. :)

 

As for the display window, I have found that a screen protector made for a tablet computer and cut down to fit does WONDERS......both for the dust attraction, the glare and for the finger prints !!!

I have a nice fuzzy micro-fiber towel in both my cars and the bike.

They do a good job but you need to remember to shake them out WAY far away from the car if the windows are open.

A while back I bought screen protectors, a 2 pack, one for each car. I have NO clue where the heck I put them and am starting to think they were in the back of the Flex when it got totaled. I thought I got everything out, but the rear seats were jammed flat, and could only reach things from the front. I'm betting it was under one of the floor mats now.
