Did you have anything connected to the OBD port at the time? I currently have a Davis CarChip and a Scangauge II connected to mine and the only anomoly I have had is the inability to run a VHR with anything connected. That was also true for my 2010 Fusion Hybrid. I wonder if the extra traffic on the buss can cause intermittent problems.

The generic ELM 327 scanner I used in the past, has caused the displays to go blank and reboot. It has also caused blindspot and cross traffic system faults, and disabled traction control. It sometimes seems to interfere with CAN Bus communications. I replaced it with a OBDLink MX scanner and have had no further issues.

Torque Pro does not properly read DTCs. FORScan, does a much more thorough job of finding DTCs.

Do you still have the scan gauge hooked up? maybe it came loose a bit and caused it.
