Company Car Choices

I'm getting a new company car. Drive about 35,000 miles per year, sometimes behind the wheel for 500 miles at a stretch.

 

Is the seat in the Hybrid Titanium worth the extra bucks over the price of a Hybrid SE?

 

I have an Energi SE for my personal car. Just got back from a trip, 600 miles each way. I was comfortable enough, I think. I am wondering whether the Titanium seat is appreciably better for long distances. Any long distance drivers out there?

 

I really like the SE's Dune interior. It seems light and happy. The closest thing in the Ti is Soft Ceramic, but there is still an awful lot of black trim, which I worry might feel depressing. Any thoughts from anyone who has spent a lot of time on the road in one of these?

Compared to the SE luxury seats, Nope, would rather have the SE. The main reason I got the HyTi was the Sony system, since in the long run, much less expensive than tearing into the car to install aftermarket. I would go with the SE Luxury package if the stereo in the SE is to your liking.

I originally intended on getting the Titanium, but when we test drove it, we found the "sportier" seats in the Titanium to be less comfortable than the seats in the SE. The last time I had my SE in for service, I sat in a 2014 Titanium for a little while (more than just getting in and getting out), and I still think my SE seats are more comfortable. Over a long stretch of 500 miles, I think they would be even less comfortable. If I had to do it again, I'd pick the SE again.

I had the 2013 titanium heated seats and I now have the 2014 titanium with heated/cooled seats. The heated/cooled seats are far and away more comfortable than the heated-only seats. Much more padding in them and better side bolstering. I can't be sure that the 2104 heated-only seats weren't upgraded to have more padding as well but I'm guessing they don't. Maybe next time I have to go to the dealer I'll check them out.

If I were getting a company car I would definitely want cooled seats & push button start. If you can get both of those options on an SE and prefer those seats then go for the SE. I'm not sure if cooled seats are available on the SE or if they're a Titanium only option.
