Why no econ A/C mode on FFH?

Recommended Posts

Doesn't it seem strange that there's no econ A/C mode on the FFH to limit the amount of time the compressor runs and therefore same energy/gas?

Good question. Back before the 2013 FFH was released in late 2012, Ford stated that their customer focus groups indicated that customers didn't like these buttons (like Toyota & Honda have) and thus they decided not to offer a "power" button or an "econ" button, but just to leave the car alone.

I was going to post a theory on why, but the more I thought, I debunked it since not all cars have Park Assist, and only the Energi has the fuel door release, so debunked a button just for Hybrids to have an Eco button.

It's a variable speed/load compressor. On initial startup on a hot day I've seen as much as 3kw draw. After cabin cooldown, drops to about .3kw. The other eco switch is the temp setting.
