Energi Owner Here!

Recommended Posts

Decided to join this forum, though I don't have the regular hybrid. I am a member of the sister forum (fordfusionenergiforum) but theres not much activity on there as there is here. Also apart of 2gfusions but between websites I have learned a lot about the Fusion! My name is Chance, 21 year old college student in Oklahoma City, OK. Leased a 2013 FFE Titanium back in November to take immediate advantage of the tax credit. Coming from a Camry Hybrid, this car is 100 times better, especially technology wise. I've done a couple of mods and plan on doing more.

Equipment:

  • Titanium Package
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • BLIS
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Active Park Assist

Current Mods:

  • 3M Clear Bra: Front bumper and full hood
  • Wrapped roof and grille in 3M gloss black vinyl
  • 18" Niche Targa M130's wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus' A/S LRR (Mouth-full I know)
  • 5% Tint all around

Future Mods:

  • H&R AWD lowering springs
  • HID headlights
  • Lamin-X light tints
  • Wrap chrome edges around windows in gloss black vinyl
  • Complete debadge
  • Shark fin antenna
  • Maybe, (just maybe) 3D Carbon rear bumper

Here are a couple of pics of my progress.

Not nearly as many Energi owners as there are Hybrid owners - especially from Oklahoam City! However there is more activity than a year ago over on the Energi forum, that's for sure.

5%, wow thats dark! You would be a bubblegum machine target for sure up here! :) I put 5% on my Flex, and took it right off, it was way too dark to see out of. Looked Awesome, but would have earned me a ticket for sure. I did leave them on the rear sides though to hide the 3rd row area. Only drawback is now I cant see out those windows unless its bright and sunny out.

HI,

Welcome to the forum. You will find the folks here very knowledgeable and helpful. We'll also drive you crazy asking about the energy as we are a curious lot.

How do you like the clear bra? Did you install it yourself? $? I was going to install one on my Mustang when it was new and never got around to it. Now I'm thinking I should do the fusion before it gets chipped up.

Welcome! I too would love to see the wrapped roof. I have been seriously considering having my roof painted black between the "drip rails" to tie the windshield into the black trim on the deck lid. :camera:

Looks great! I'm interested in the effect the wheels have on mpg? Any information you could provide regarding the grill and roof would be great. I've been considering plasti dipping my rims and grille, but this seems like a better alternative.

90% of my driving is electric only, so the only thing that I have noticed is about a 1 mile loss on that partition of the battery. The miles seem to disappear faster but I have adjusted how I drive to compensate the larger/heavier wheels. As the weather warms up, I seem to be getting more miles on a full charge. I went from a 17" to an 18" but the 1 mile loss is not a big deal to me.

The wrap is just a 3M Gloss Black vinyl wrap. Kryptonite Designs installed in in my garage for me. There is a seam where the attenna is but you cant really notice it. I may have her redo it whenever I change out the attenna. She also wants to experiment with taking the slats out of the grille and wrapping them that way. Currently she just wrapped them without taking apart the grille.

Nice pics. The roof looks really nice. Now I need to find a body shop around here that can do a wrap on my roof. Not sure I can find one that has experience with wrap around my neck-o-the-woods. :)

Where are you located? Kryptonite Designs is based out of Dallas, TX.

Dallas is 3 hours from us. I can see Oklahoma from our front porch. :)

I wish Oklahoma would have kept its winds to itself! See my other post, you will know why I say that! :(

I can get a quote for you if you'd like. She drives to Oklahoma frequently because this is home.

Sounds good. My Z just has a sunroof. No antenna on the roof like the FFH. :)
