Ordering a 14 FFH soon. Any advice?

First post here. Been lurking a couple days to read up on some things, and thought I'd make a username and start commenting a little. Anyways, I've got an appointment for Friday afternoon to meet with the sales guy at my local dealership to get a FFH ordered. A couple things:

 

• They told me about 8 weeks for the build is a good number to shoot for. Does this sound right?
• I'm thinking a Sterling Gray SE with 502A, ACC, Remote Start, and Splash Guards. Does anyone have anything similar?
• What are the main differences with the package/options I listed and just getting a Titanium? The site is a little confusing to me on this.

On the plus side, an SE can get the Luxury package which has much more comfortable seats than the Ti. On the negative side, the SE stereo sucks. The options you listed are good ones, but I dont see you listed the push button start, and that is standard on the Ti model. I had an SE and I now have the HyTi, mainly because I wanted the Sony system, otherwise an SE model would have been just fine.

 

I had to look up the package, they changed them, the 502a was the 505a. Although you didnt list the drivers assist package, you might want to look into it, its what sets the Fusion apart from all the others. They are options that have been well received by others, and some who didn't want it, now are glad they got it.

 

For me the main reason I got the HyTi was for the Sony system, for me it was worth the loss of the super comfy Luxury seats. I can always change out the seat, but adding a better stereo to these cars is damn near impossible with the way they are designed. Unless you want the better sound system,, the rest is pure cosmetic.

8-12 weeks is a pretty common lead time for a special order. I would also recommend the Driver Assist Pkg, those features are really nice. As far as price goes, check out some of the other threads in this section of the forum. Invoice price is a good starting point for negotiating on a special order. If the dealer won't do that then look into getting an X-Plan PIN. There are links elsewhere about how to do that. There is a section of Blue Oval Forums dedicated to X-Plan PIN requests.

I see that new car inventories have increased substantially in January so this should be a good time to negotiate. I wouldn't be surprised to see ford add some incentives.

 

Also, if you haven't, go to ford's website and request info on the fusion. Hopefully they will send you a booklet with a coupon for additional customer cash. Also, Farm Bureau members in some states get a $500 discount (750 on some models) on new Fords.

Well, we went in yesterday and got it ordered. We went with:

 

Sterling Grey SE with the Tech and Appearance packages, remote start, and AW floor mats. The dealer cut us a great deal on the trade (04 Accord) and the new car, and we qualified for a couple rebates. All said and done, we're out the door at $23,589 before our down payment. I'm very happy with it. Now, these 6 weeks need to go by fast!
