At 415 hp, this really looks impressive for a plug-in hybrid. I wish Ford would come out with something similar. There hasn't been a price announced yet, but I'm afraid it will be over my budget.

Doesn't look like a coupe to me....unless those things behind the front doors that look alot like rear doors aren't really....doors.

Those figures seem wildly optimistic, and remembering how cars are tuned for the EPA loop, I don't have much faith in them

The pics of the vehicle seem electronically produced, not of an actual car. I know it's not in production, but you can say anything you want to before you have an actual car to drive. I haven't read any actual test info on this vehicle either.

In contrast, the Subaru Crosstrek "hybrid" gets a whopping 33mpg highway! Not the same type of vehicle or hybrid either. In fact it is unique in the world of hybrids, and I don't think it should even be called one.

Considering what the mileage on our Fusions is, when not using any assist, this SUV from VW seems pretty pie in the sky.

Nice looking car but the new Ford Edge isn't bad either. Unfortunately they wouldn't say if they make a hybrid version. Would be kinda sad wouldn't it?

Looks neat, sounds far-fetched. If they're saying only 70 MPGe when running off the PHEV battery that is pretty awful compared to all other PHEVs or BEVs...

 

I hope Ford does make a hybrid Edge. It seems that quite a few people have been missing the hybrid Escape. The challenge is designing the powertrain. The FFH/C-Max powertrain wouldn't be powerful enough so it would require a significant investment by Ford.

I was hoping for a Taurus hybrid in 2014, but alas it is very large and heavy for the powertrain. So I got the FFH instead.

 

The heavier it gets, the more diesel it needs in my opinion.

There had to be some major technical hurdle to cross in order to offer efficient hybrid crossovers. I've always driven crossovers and SUVs prior to now, and I never would have bought a sedan if I could have bought a crossover that gets better than 30 MPG city for under $45,000.

A hybrid version of the Lincoln MKC would be the sole competitor right now for the replacement of my wife's RX330 in 2015. The style of the Edge, including the latest concept, keeps it out of the race for us, even if they do make a hybrid version of it.
