MKZ Hybrid vs. Fusion Hybrid

Thoughts on this matter? Pricing them out with the same options its about a 4k-5k hike in price, will the Lincoln manufacturing pay off? Is it better build quality, better parts used? Is it worth it....

 

The only reason I started looking is because the incentive on the Lincoln is actually 0.0% for 60 months which is stupid since fusion is 2.9, and x plan has 750 dollar cash incentive as well..... WTF??

 

Anyhow.... I would love some opinions on this matter, the looks of the car vs. fusion... etc.

It's basically the same car built on the same line with fancier extras and trim.

The no shift lever is cool. So are the 19" wheels and the dual exhaust. Plus I think cooled seats have been available all along. Not to mention they are cool as hell looking, IMO. Around here (Chicago 'burbs) there have been no MXZ hybrids to be had though. I've never even seen one. They are at least $8k more than a modestly equipped Fusion Ti though, aren't they? $44k vs $36-ish?

On the MKZ Hybrid you can get a panoramic sunroof which isn't an option on the FFH.

I think the question is, do the Mexicans and robots that presently build both cars in the same factory take more care with the MKZ than the FFH. I would suspect the answer is no.

I do know that even though they are built on the same line, after they're built, the Lincolns go through extra testing over what the Fords go through. At least that's the way it is at the Chicago plant with the Taurus and MKS.

Also remember you get all scheduled maintenance in the first 50k miles included The longer bumper to bumper too.

Hybrids? That's pretty good. My dealer has all sorts of non hybrid versions, 3.7l, Ecoboost, AWD, but never any hybrids.

Theres many lower end ones in my area. But almost all cars optioned decently are the standard engines. Mine was ordered special for someone and they didnt take it and I saw one other loaded almost like mine (not in white) that also shows special order on the window sticker.

What does "better rates" mean? Interest rates? If so, that stuff changes all the time so I'm not sure that counts. :)

 

I heard that, if they haven't already, Lincoln will soon be providing lifetime maintenance on their cars. But don't quote me.

I don't see lifetime maintenance happening.. They are adding all kinds of extras for the black editions but the will be fully loaded cars. If they did a lifetime maintenance option tho I bet you they add that into sticker to cover 125k of milage oil changes and such.

Ski pass thru in rear seat behind arm rest

Adaptive suspension with three comfort settings

Adaptive led headlights that turn with the steering wheel

Led exterior lighting

Full ambient led lighting in all doors footwells consoles and cup holders

Sound deadening double laminated front side windows

A lot more soft touch materials in the interior. No hard piano black panels.

Push Button start stop is standard

Available power rear privacy sunscreen (I love that thing!)

Etc. etc.

Sorry. Not lifetime maintenance, lifetime warranty. Not sure if it will be bumper to bumper or power train. I guess we'll see.

They could never do bumper to bumper.. And as far as a limited powertrain lifetime warranty you can look back at Chrysler and the one they had.. They did less than 100 warranty claims past what the prior warranty was. There is so many reasons they can deny it they almost always do. Even under current warranty.

Yes hybrids the 2.0H is pretty unmistakable.

The other 2.0 has a ecoboost logo next to it and its easy to tell them apart at distance.

Just realized this and figured I would post it. The 2014's get a 24k mile maintance. The 2013 like my came with 4yr/50k.

 

Apparently you get less now. Maybe the black edition will have the 4/50k again.

That's what had me confused than was the years.. Btw if you sign up on the website for a brochure to be mailed to you put all the correct info and address and within 48hours u will have more bonus cash they can pull up
