If you are never under the hood, I agree, doesn't make sense to get this. But if you ever go to shows, if you ever clean your engine bay, if you ever modify your car, or do normal maintenance then I think it's a no brainer. Whenever I am working under the hood of my car, that stupid prop rod bother me to know end trying to work around it all the time.

I rarely opened the hood on the 2010, because of that stupid prop rod. I just never got around to ordering a set of these.  I may get a set for the 13 though, maybe in a month or so, when I have some spare cash.

Due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control, we had to slightly modify the price of the struts by 10 dollars. So everyone that bought theirs already saved 10 bucks. Congratulations. It is still less than purchasing direct, we just don't want anyone to think any funny stuff was going on.

I just installed the struts on my 2013 Fusion Energi.

They work great.

A couple of comments.

The bolts that must be removed from the towers are not 1/2", they are 10 mm.

Before you attach the right side strut at the bottom, disengage the prop rod because once the strut is attached it is not possible to disengage the prop rod.

The prop rod and the yellow prop rod holder are easily removed from the car.

Place a screwdriver blade under the yellow holder on the side nearest the windshield with the screwdriver parallel to the front bumper.

Rotate the screwdriver blade clockwise and the yellow piece will pop out.

The end of the prop rod goes straight in and then the end is bent upward somewhat.

With the rod in the lowered position pull straight out while simultaneously rotating the rod up.

There is nothing holding the rod in the plastic holder other than the upward bend in the rod.

The only thing that I still missed from my 2002 Crown Victoria has now been taken care of.

:happy feet:

You guys that still want these, they are still "only" $99.95 from Redline Tuning (the manufacturer).

White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat

All of the bells and whistles (without that silly panoramic roof).

Ignoring the fact that our thread in our forum that we pay for is not the appropriate place to post the reply that you did, you should at least provide our fellow Fusion owners with more accurate information. Redline charges 15 dollars for shipping. We offer free shipping on the website for every product. We also offer cash back on every purchase. So purchasing from Redline directly at 99.99 actually costs you at least 5 dollars more. I know it isn't much but we thought everyone would appreciate the ability to save a little bit of cash.

Another comment.

Be sure the forked bottom connectors are facing aft when connected to the lower ball mount, towards the back of the car and slide the thin plastic retainers down.

If these are facing forward they will dismount and the hood will drop.

I, as usual, didn't read ALL the instructions and put the passenger side facing forward, not good.

They are both safety wired and taped now.

Installed properly they work great.

I'm going to order a set from CD3 not only for the convenience of having them, but also for the all important first impression that potential buyers get when I show them what's under the hood. The manual rod has already been mentioned twice by friends as being out of place on such a high tech vehicle.

Well, they do that job, it is very nice to just barely lift the hood and have it 'power up' into place.  Muy bueno!

Added hood struts this weekend, they work great. Don't have to work around the prop rod anymore.

Installed the struts an hour ago.  It is very easy, but if you use the manual rod to hold the hood up during the installation, make sure you disengage it before snapping on the right strut (the left one looking from the front).  You can't move the hood up to get the rod out of its hole if you wait until the installation of the struts is complete.

These look great...

Am I right in assuming that they attach to existing holes or bolts?

Thanks in advance.
