Ambient lighting now available for SE

No. There is no switch. It is controlled by MFT where you can select the colors and brightness level as well.

That "A" switch is the auto-start switch for the 1.6's that have auto-start.

Thanks for this info. I just went online and watched a YouTube video before I read this and found out that the Ambient Ti Lighting is controlled by the MFT, it's really neat.

I just got lucky that there is an "A" on this switch, for me it means Ambient Lighting. I did post the switch number in case anyone wanted to go this rout.

Can someone with a HyTi confirm that this is where your ambient lighting switch is? What about a HyTi without Park Assist? I would much prefer that setup to drilling a spot for a button.

My next question is: how much did it cost you? B25Nut already said it cost him a little over $300 and I'm curious what your cost was since the cost will be the deciding factor in whether we do this or not.

The cost for this install is $217.88 for the kit, it retails for $249, I got a discount. $28.67 for the switch and $90.00 for the install. So for me it the total was, $366.55

The install takes approx four hours, so the $90.00 is inexpensive. If your going to do it get it done now before Ford figures out it takes longer than one hour.

$249 plus $90 labor. I'm also getting the illuminated door sills installed so the labor includes that. Not cheap, but I've only purchased one other thing this year to "treat" myself (a MOVA Globe, which I think many here would also love to have http://www.amazon.com/Cobalt-Blue-Silver-MOVA-Globe/dp/B005UOZBPK ). The door sills were the only item that I didn't get on the FFH I had to travel 200 miles for that would have been on the one I special ordered from my local dealer. For me, this now makes my car complete.

Got the door sills added to mine. The installing dealer (Leif Johnson Ford) then tossed the barely one month old sill I had or at least they went 'missing'. So pick yours up even if you then toss them. I LOVE the look however.

This ambient Lighting looks much brighter and nicer than what I got in my titanium, which is barely perceptible. I wonder if they are using brighter bulbs. Very nice!

Ours is pretty bright if you select a lighter color and turn up the brightness.

Great price! I went to my dealer today armed with your information and was quickly told $499 for the ambient light kit and install. They wouldn't budge at all on the price because she knew the install takes more than one hour. I may still do this at some point but because I am a federal GS'er, I need to wait to see if they are going to close us down tonight at midnight without pay.

I don't think there is any reason why those with Titaniums can't have the light kit added. Most dealer will put the lights wherever you want them, so the two cupholders and the rear passenger footwells could be illuminated. Also, just one light could be put in for the back seats and the forth used to illuminate the open center storage under the dash.

I'm pretty sure the rear footwells are already lit in the Ti, FWIW. But illuminated cup holders would be nice. I miss those from our 2010.

Where the Tech put the lights in the rear footwells on my SE are in the area already marked for the Ti models. All the Tech did was drill holes in the already marked areas. You can reach in and feel the area that is molded in the console. See attached picture.

Did you use a slow shutter speed when you took these pictures? My LEDs are bright, just not as bright as yours seem to be. I like the plush carpets, BTW.

Nikon D7000(200mm lens) no flash and ASA set to 6400 so yes to your question and I agree they are very bright. Always try to avoid flash even in daylight.

I just love the new photo technology. You can take a picture inside your jacket pocket without flash, at midnight and still get a great picture.

The newer Nikon's go beyond ASA 6400, I should say the pricey Nikon's can do this.

I remember the old ASA 64 days, what a difference. f16-1/60th second, got properly exposed film on a bright sunny day.

On a cloudy day when the ASA is set for 100 with a Nikon D7000 you would be amazed at the sharpness and definition
