MFT door keypad code not working

Recommended Posts

I just bought my 2013 FFH. I'm trying to set a 2nd keypad code. I tried it using the keypad and only ended up poping the trunk. I followed the instructions in the manul. I then tried to do it via the MFT door keypad code interface and after I enter the factory code it does nothing and sits on the same screen.

Any ideas? I have the latest update to MFT.

By the way my factory code does work on the door keypad.

Factory code ABCDE
Personal code FGHIJ

Push any button to turn the backlighting on.

Press the buttons at a rate of 1 button per second.
It must be a continuous flow of button pushing.

A B C D E 1 F G H I J 1

The doors will lock and then unlock to indicate success.

The 1 in the middle says you are programming a personal code.
The 1 at the end says to store it as personal code number 1.
To store a second personal code the last number would be 3 instead of 1.
To store a third personal code the last number would be 5 instead of 1.

Same result the trunk pops when I enter the digit 6

That would happen if the first digit of your personal code was 6 and you failed to enter the 1 following the entry of the factory code.

code unlocks the driver door

code followed by 3/4 unlocks the passenger and rear doors

code followed by 5/6 opens the trunk

My code is 71262. It pops on the 6. It never seems to enter the add new code sequence despite hiting 1-2 after my factory code is entered.

Did you get your factory code from the tag that came with the keys or did you read it out on the left display using the procedure in the manual?

It's on a credit card type thing that came with the keys and manual.

The reason I asked is that when read out from the car on the left display the numbers are in reverse order.

Write down the factory code and your new code (71262) using only odd numbers (71151) since even numbers don't exist and compare them to be sure they are different. I assume they are different since you indicated the last digit of the factory code is a 9.

Does the factory code use the first button (1/2)? If not the first button may be broken.

The factory code starts with a 1-2 so that works. It just doesn't seem to enter learn mode for new numbers.

I also tired to clear saved numbers via instructions in the om. There were no indicators so I assume it worked. Still can't added a new code.

I'm out of ideas. Maybe a trip to the dealer is in order.

Yeah I think so.

I have to go back in a week or so when my mud flaps and spare tire comes in (made sure that was part of the deal). I'll have them show me how it works.

Took it to the dealer. I am not exactly sure what they did but I have a new factory code and everything works now.
