For anyone interested, below are pics of the AVS In-Channel Ventvisors I just installed. They were $69.99 (minus my $10 coupon) at AutoAnything with free shipping. I know they are not for everyone but I like the looks of the in-channel and they serve a great purpose. Nothing touches the paint with the in-channel version.

Recently installed the same on my FFH. Were very easy to install and look good. Nice to leave the windows cracked open a bit and not worry about rain.

How do these fit in the channel?  Can you post a pic of the window opened and how they are attached to the car?  These look great!

Here is a link where you can buy these visors - there is a place to click where you can see a video of the installation. It looks super-easy to do, at least in the video.

Thanks for posting the link for JSKershaw. The install was super-easy just like the video. I only ran into one small issue and that was with the front windows. After I pulled the tape backing for the final part of the install, on my first attempt at closing the window, the safety feature kicked in and the window lowered. All I had to do was to push up inside the vents on each corner to give the window more clearance. I was then able to close the window with no issues and I will leave the windows closed for 24 hrs like the instructions said. This will give the tape pleanty of time to cure on the rubber seal that it is mounted to.

Please update us when the tape has cured and the windows are opened and closed.  I'm curious as how the window reacts to the vent now that it's occupying the channel.

All four windows work fine after the curing process. Both front windows do make a slight rub noise when it meets the vent in the channel. Shouldn't be an issue.

All four vents had small scratches in them when I opened the package but I didn't worry about them. I recently purchased some Novus 2 for the piano trim and this stuff took every scratch out of the vents.

I would feel guilty if I didn't report a small issue that I am experiencing after I installed my in-channel vent visors. I am now hearing a little road noise after the install that wasn't there before. Maybe I did something wrong during the install but I don't think so. I googled the noise and other owners hear it also. Not a deal breaker for me but it might be for others.

I am not surprised that you hear some noise now. They are in the slipstream so that wind noise will transfer a bit. I have had vent shades on other vehicles and always noticed wind noise after installing them.

Thavil, thank you for mentioning the wind noise, I think that might be a deal breaker for me. My last two cars generated so much road noise, I relish the quiet interior of my FFH.

Last post on the vent visors. What a difference they made with lowering all four windows a little on our hottest day of the year here in the DC area. The wife even made a comment that they were worth the money. My Covercraft sun shield and tint helps, but lowering the windows without worrying about rain was great. Simple things in life can make you happy!

Updates, any updates out there? It's almost a year since the last post and I'm wondering how happy people are with them. I have had them on all of my last vehicles and to me they make sense. Last week it was raining (a lot) and it was frustrating not being able to lower the window and get fresh air. Instead all I got was wet!

So has every one used the AVS product, or have you tried other brands as well. Seems to me in Canada we have access to Vent-Shade as the brand favorite.  Need to check that out, but is every one happy having them?

I ordered a set from Amazon at $46 with free shipping.  #194714

They will be here in a few days.  I've had them on the last 4 vehicles and also installed them on the wifes past 2 cars.

Of course they make noise, it's just like cupping your hand around your ear, the noise is always there, but it now bounces of the vent shade and back towards you.  No big deal for the benefit they give you.

Very happy with mine, (AVS in channel vents installed last July). Nice to have the car vented without worrying about the rain. However, need to remember to put the windows up all the way when washing the car!(voice of experience).

Has there been any noticeable increase in wind noise or reduction in fuel economy?

No noticeable wind noise on mine. My gas mileage has been on the gradual rise ever since the car was put in service so I would have to say the vent visors had no negative effect on fuel economy. My lifetime display is now reporting 47.2 mpg after 23k miles.
