looking car, without key fob

I want to leave my keys in the glove box and lock it. when I do this by pushing the lock button on the door then closing out, it beeps twice but isn't locked.. sorry if this.is.a question I should be able to find on my own, but can't find owners manual at this moment.

reminds me i need to work on changing my code again....never could get it .............but.....sounds like a safety feature to keep you from locking keys in car.... sorry ..not much help..

but you should be able to use the keypad to get in...I thought so anyway:(

This might not help either, but in past cars I've had, you could lock then hold the exterior handle open when closing the door. that would get past the 'can't lock your keys in the car'.... But I haven't tried on a fusion.

 

Could also try locking with the fob but leaving the trunk open... drop the keys in and close.

I'm not sure its the best idea to leave your keys in the car but you can override the smart unlock feature and intentionally lock the intelligent access key inside the car by closing all the doors and then use the keyless entry keypad.

well I was going to the gym and didn't want to keep up with the key fob. New gym, wasn't sure if they had lockers, but they did so no biggie.

can you lock it with the keypad?..I tried that, but it didn't work.

To lock it you don't need the code just "press" (7-8) & (9-0) together.

 

But if you would lock you key fob inside the car you should make sure you now your key code and it works in order to get back into the car.
