djminfll Report post Posted June 21, 2013 Prior to picking up my car from the dealer in February, I had the them apply "The Protector" protection package to the exterior and the leather interior - when I was younger, we used to call it the "Teflon package". My question is, I have the tuxedo black, and it looks like it has little flecks of color in the paint - is this the regular characteristic of the tuxedo black, or is it due to the protection package? If I want to use the clay bar on my car, will this damage the protection package I applied? I really want to do this, the pics you guys have posted of your cars after the clay bar process have made me so jealous!
keithsm2 Report post Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) i know what you mean...I had some super duper 5 year protection applied to my paint by the dealer.......but...im pretty sure if you put the clay bar to it.....its going to strip everything and you will be on your own for keeping up with the waxing.... ( 5 years?? really?? I doubt i will wait that long to clay bar mine ) BTW....i think the flecks are supposed to be there.. corncobs Report post Posted June 21, 2013 I did have the protection sealant package done as well so it's an interesting question. I didn't notice anything when using the clay and the Zaino I had quite a few tar spots all over the car and they cleaned up nicely.
