My first 21 days of ownership, 2016 FFE. The picture still shows my 2013 FFH. The new 2016 is the same color, so eventually I'll change the picture.

My remaining range still showed 100 miles, with the gas left in the tank.

I filled up because of a trip tomorrow. 8.14 gal to fill the tank.

Got there but it was a squeeze. Won't be trying it again.

ptjones:13.6 (I posted this in the 600 mile club also).  How are you able to manage such high fuel economy in the CMAX?  The Fusion Hybrid's EPA ratings were dropped from 47/47 first to 44 then 43/39 but the CMAX got more complaints from owners and the drop was more drastic.  Down to 41/36.  What did the original window sticker say?  Few CMAX owners are reporting over 50 http://www.fuelecono...-MAX Hybrid FWD while I find 47 to be relatively accurate for the Fusion except in the winter. I've always gotten slightly better than the EPA rating for any Ford I have had.  The dashboard average is stuck at 48.2 at the moment and creeping up slightly but that could always be killed come winter. I haven't totalled up all my receipts but have kept most of them.

My EPA Sticker had 47/47/47mpg and I started out getting 47mpg on my first tank. EPA ended up at 37/40/42mpg. I use Fuelly.com to keep track of my actual gas mileage, I have iPhone pics of almost all of my fillups and gas receipts.  I'm current Life Time is 49 mpg on Smart Gauge, but 4.5yrs/150k miles ago my Life Time was 43.3mpg.  As far as MPG's go did you look at my  "How to drive a CMAX Hybrid/ FFH to get great gas mileage", "Mod" and "Hypermiling" YouTube videos?  That is how I get the good MPG's.  IIRC in 2014 I drove a FFH for four weeks while my CMAX was repaired from hitting dear.  I put Grill Covers on it and My take away from that was FFH got about 1 mpg better HWY and 1 mpg less City as compared with my CMAX.  Fuelly seems to bare this out with 2013 CMAX at 39.5mpg and FFH at 40.5mpg Averages. I have several 60+ mpg tanks on trips across the country, a couple of 68mpg tanks.  I usually use State routes with 55mph speed limits for these record runs. At 55mph I'm getting 60mpg and 45mph, 70mpg. Sounds like you are doing a good job. :)

I got 706 miles on my last tank of gas, showing 16 miles remaining. What driving technique? None. How did it happen? When I last filled the tank, for some reason I decided to see how much it would hold after the automatic cutoff (actually after the second cutoff which is my usual stopping point). It took a few minutes, adding gas slowly, but I added four more gallons before gas started to (slowly) emerge from the entry point. So I decided to see if I could get 700 miles and I did. But I won't be doing this again. I know it released emissions into the air and, for some cars, it can cause expensive damage. For the record, I noticed no difference at all driving on that overfilled tank and then filling up today (with 12 gallons, stopping filling normally).

Congrats!! Your refilling technique is the same that I used on my one and only 700 mile tank. Mine came at at time that I didn't use heat or A/C either. I doubt I will be able to get a 700 mile tank on my '19 HyTi, it doesn't get the same MPG as my '13 SE.

I doubt I will be able to get a 700 mile tank on my '19 HiTy, it doesn't get the same MPG as my '13 SE.

Have you determined a reason why?
