Proportion of EV miles to ICE miles

I'm curious how much correlation there is between fuel economy and EV miles. Highway driving obviously leads to less EV miles but not necessarily poor fuel economy. Mostly I'm curious about some of the users with poor MPGs, like MXGOLF, and how many EV miles they're getting.

 

Please post your odometer info and Lifetime Summary EV miles, assuming that your Lifetime Summary matches the odometer. If you have trip odometer info available as well of your proportion of EV miles to ICE miles over an extended period of time please include that too along with a description of driving patterns

I have reset my lifetime and don't see a way to get lifetime EV miles.

I will check my lifetime and see what it's posting. I have had the car garaged the last month and the weather has warmed up but that only gives me a few miles per gallon better. 35 is not 47. I could live with 40+. I just want to enjoy my new car but having to watch the dash board full time is BS. I just want to drive and not worry about mileage but when mpg is that much off of what it is supposed to get and the fact lots of other people are getting 40+ from day one just is really frustrating.

I have reset my lifetime and don't see a way to get lifetime EV miles.

At what odometer reading did you reset the Lifetime? You just subtract that odometer reading and then you can figure out a long-term EV miles proportion.

 

I have been trying to start recording this data in my notes with each Fuelly fill up since it seems like useful information

I reset Trip 1 at each fill-up and take pics it showing miles, EV miles, MPG and gallons used. I have one album with all my fill-ups on G+ :)

Temps in mid 50s average over entire tank

Temps below freezing with snow most days during this tank

40% city driving

Below freezing, included 275 mile round trip at 65 MPH in 30 MPH winds and 20 degree temps

@neod192 that's a good idea. I will take pics of trips but not always at a fill up and I think keeping track in fuelly as hybridbear does is also a good idea.

Here is my Lifetime Summary as of a few weeks ago

 

In the long-term it shows 40.4% EV miles. That is lowered by our road trip to California with minimal EV mileage. I plan to reset the Lifetime Summary at 10,000 miles. Right around the time we hit 10,000 miles we are going on a road trip across Canada which will also have few EV miles because of driving at 65 MPH or higher on the highway

I'm only at about 25% EV miles because I do so much highway driving and my MPG average is in the low-mid 40's. So yes, something seems wrong with that.

Here is mine just before I traded out of it. Reset only once when I first got the car. At least I believe that to be the case, the two trips were constantly reset, but I never reset this after the first time.

IMHO, the regen miles are FREE miles that you got from your braking. It allowed the equal EV miles to happen so it is already in there. The rest of the EV miles in the total EV miles were from direct ICE HVB charging during normal oerations. No fair counting the regen twice.

 

I'm disappointed in my overall at 39 mpg. I have a pretty good tank score on the last fill, but still at about 39. I'll post the info. in a bit.

 

My numbers on the last tank fillup were:

530 MTE after previous fillup

50 MTE at fillup

4793 total miles

363 miles on the tank +50 MTE

217 EV miles on the tank

 

As usual the trip milage is all over the map and pretty much unpredictable.

Might be 28 mpg or might be 52 over the same local streets. Verry little >55.

 

Traded the '10 FFH which provided about 43 mpg lifetime.

This might indicate that the issue is with the ICE efficiency then rather than with the battery, but I want to see more data

We don't count regen miles twice. This is just Ford's way of telling us about our braking. Toyota chooses to display this information in the amount of electricity generated rather than in miles. I wish we could see both the kWh regenerated and how many miles the computer estimates that is worth

Hey brcd131 do you have a typo in you regen miles; 59 seems really low for almost 14k total miles.

That makes sense; I just check my regen miles on our trip back from LA and after 2000 miles I only managed to get 15 regen miles on the entire trip. We still had some slower travel and city driving in there so it makes total sense now. Still pretty good MPGs in my opinion for almost what appears to be 100% interstate driving.

Here's mine - I never reset it - so I have just over 36% EV miles.
