This "no key" found problem is HUGE! I live in the Southeast U.S. where temperatures can rise above 90 daily. On many occasions I have come to my car and the remove is completely unresponsive. Today, for example, I did open the car using the FOB signal but the push button would not activate and I received the "can't find key" connection. This is a DANGEROUS issue that Ford must connect IMMEDIATELY with a recall! I did find that placing the key in the slot found inside the compartment between the two front seats (open the top and find the slot that receives the key fob) will, most times, then allow me to start the car. THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE that must be addressed. Suggest reporting this to NHTSA.

There was a TSB regarding a similar problem that involved reprogramming the receiver module to the latest IDS number.Sounds like you haven't approached the dealer yet.

I agree, not a safety issue, inconvenient, yes, but not a safety issue. Ford built in provisions in the event the battery is weak in the Fob, or in your case, the receiver cant see the key. If you haven't been to the dealer to get it addressed, coming here and yelling about it wont do any good.

Take it to the dealer and have them look up the TSB on it, and they will get it corrected.
