Hmm. Very interesting. My dealer couldn't reproduce it (I don't know how, go drive it a mile and you're sure to hear it) so I may resort to pulling that panel off myself one day and seeing if I can figure it out.

I can get my pillar speaker to make a godawful racket, just call my wife.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

OK, that sounds as if my wife makes it rattle, but no, if the phone volume is too high, then the speaker distorts and makes this awful noise. Audio from the phone comes out the left pillar speaker it seems.

Car's in service today for the key & speaker issues. Throwing on some 25% tint for a little less than $300 too.

 

Got a Dodge Avenger for rent today and it rides actually pretty nicely, but the seat is just some 2x4's whittled together with a half inch of padding. My solo motorcycle seat is more comfortable.

I had speaker rattle on passenger's side and trim rattle on the driver's side.

 

Speaker was busted and now on order. Trim piece is going to be replaced. Key system was reset.

hey, you guys noticed the piano black peice on the rear doors has a gap near the front? I noticed this recently. The front doors look normal. I pushed down thinking maybe they weren't clicked in, but that wasn't it.

Hey guys I wanted to report that I had the TSB fox applied to my remotes this morning. Will wait and see if the issue happens again.

I had the TSB fix and I'm still getting occasional Key Not Found issues, but only when I am responding to the Fire Station and trying to exit/enter the vehicle quickly.

 

This time, however, while sitting in the cab I am able to click the keyless entry buttons and it works again (I guess this gets the codes in sync again.) Before, the keyfob buttons would not do anything and I had to manually open door and place the key in the console pocket.

 

I think what happens is when I get to the station, I pretty much have the door open and my leg out the door with the key in the pocket and hit the OFF button. I see something popup like "Press Button to Restart", but I'm in a rush so I just leave it and lock the doors. When I return, the door opens just fine with fob in my pocket but when I get in to start, I get the key not found message, hit the unlock button on the fob, then it works again.

 

I think I'm just confusing the system when I have the key outside the car and press the stop button.

When you press the button too quickly to shut it off, I find that it goes into accessory mode. When you get out and leave it that way without the key in the car, when the battery saver times out and shuts the car down, it locks out the key. Pretty sure this is what is causing your problem. Dont leave the car with it in accessory mode. I think the button bobbles if you dont press it firmly, shuts off and turns back on.

This time I had time to shut down the car properly since I was the first to arrive. One thing I've noticed now is that I am wearing the same athletic shorts when this happens and the key sits really deep in my pocket and I'm pretty much sitting on it and blocking it from view of the sensor. I will keep it in the open next time.

Yea, was definitely my doing and it locked the door this morning as I was getting out.

I love/hate the IA key! Need to get a clip and attach it to my beltloop I think....

I'm thinking of just leaving my key in the car and using the keyless access code to get in/out of the car. I would never have to worry about carrying a key again!

 

This is probably a bad idea, because someone could break the window and steal the car ...

Wouldn't breaking a window set the alarm off?

I don't think so. As far as I know the alarm goes off only when the doors are opened while the car is still lock - unless the Fusion alarm is smarter than that. I haven't really researched this, so I could be 100% wrong :)

Open a window enough where you can reach in and pull the handle and try it.

Hey, wanted to post another update. I haven't had the key not found error happen since I had the TSB applied. Looks like that did the trick!
