Do the Intelligent Access keys have a code?

Recommended Posts

I was curious if the Intelligent Access (IA) keys have a keycode - not talking about the outside keypad, but

the key fobs themselves. I did not get any such code with the keys and was wondering if the dealer

threw it out or something.

Guess this doesn't matter unlike cutting a key as in the integrated keyhead transmitter (IKT)

keys (conventional keys). Guess it doesn't matter as if you lose a key, they'd just have

to program you a new one.

There was no code attached to the fob, Just a small piece of plastic telling how to use the remote

start. Manual says there is a code for the keys and "don't lose it" - but doesn't mention the type

of keys.

On the small piece of plastic I see a bunch of numbers on the reverse side, wondering if the code for the key is on there - the frequency is listed on there.

Well I figured this was the case. Why would the dealer toss this aside, I don't know,

but maybe it was the stupid prep guys. They left the remote start tag. I saw this

code in the manual which is why I ask about it.

So I assume that if I was ever in Podunk, USA and lost my keys, I'd have to

provide this code to get a key cut just to get into the car. So this code is important

I assume.

Can it be looked up somehow from the VIN? I could bug the dealer to do that for me.

This has nothing at all to do with the keypad code, which I did get on a wallet card.

Also a 5-digit code - but I assume not related to the key itself.

OK, then can the Ford dealer get this information from the VIN?

On the plastic tag, does it have a sticker on the back with one of those QR boxes? There is one on the back of mine for the Flex with a code too, but not sure if its for the key or not.

No, I think those are both part numbers. Google them and they show up on EBay

Part numbers is: DS7T-15K601-CH (which is the smart key itself)

My other number is tiny but says: M3N-A2C31243300

Cannot scan the QR with my phone.
