I was wondering what people thought of window VIN etching for added security and if it's worth it.

Not really worth it. Can be done for about $20-50. It won't stop anyone from stealing your car.

I saw that too about insurance costs. As long as it's not an eyesore on the windows and it reduces insurance costs, maybe it's actually worth it.

You have to look to find them, they are usually done on a lower corner out of the way and not very big either. Enough to make the parts useless on the blackmarket.

It may reduce your insurance costs. Not all insurance companies have a discount for glass etching.... If you really want it you can buy do it yourself kits for less than $25 and save a lot of money over the price most dealers charge....
