Sad to see this (your) tragic FFH story to end like this. Hopefully your '10 stays a reliable and good companion to you.

Thanks, I am sure it will. I have had a lot of Fords, they all had little issues, minor ones that were easily resolved, this was the first one that I had a real problem with, so I hope that what I replaced it with is as good as or better than the last one I had. So far, really liking it and I feel so much more relaxed now. Last night was probably the first night that I slept well in quite some time too.

For those interested, heres what I got.

Whats even better, the irony. I looked down at the dash, and saw it was getting 20.5 MPG, and I was thrilled. Getting 35 in the FFH pissed me off. Ironic huh.

I do like the Flex a lot and this one looks really nice!

Its a big car and with a lot of space but my wife hates the look of it; too boxy for her. She also doesn't like the small windows which is one reason she rarely drove my HHR besides the other ready to fall apart noices it made.

She has been driving a '06 Explorer Limited for the last 2.5 years and she loves the visibility of that car.

small? um ok. :headscratch: Visibility has never been a problem in these, well as long as the rear head rests are folded, they are pretty high on the 13 now. Looks are deceiving, when you get in the Flex, its very roomy and lots of glass to look out. It does have a couple blind spots, but the BLIS handles those now.

Thanks though! :)

What I found with the Flex is it's one of those love/hate vehicles, people either really love it, or they hate it. The box look turns some people away, however, when you are inside driving it, you dont see it, but driving it is the one thing that people should do whether they like the looks or not. At least this one makes up for my blunder of getting rid of the first one, its just costing my a LOT more! We all pay for our mistakes at some point. :victory:

Good luck with your newFlex. At least you stayed Ford. I've had a slew of them over the yrs, myself. An 84 tbird that consistantly plugged up the cats. Ran it till the emissions warranty ran out. Also an 87 crown vic that got 3 ring and pinions due to hum like snow tires.Told them I wanted a drum to drum rearend, which fixed the problem which was the housing. Then a wrist pin got noisey and I demanded a complete engine. The car only had 2500 miles on it. Told the dealer the car would be in lot with the payment book on the seat if they tried to just put a new piston in it. But I still own Fords today and think they are great cars. I see my FFH due some weird things even after its warmed up as far as the ICE goes. Like showing a discharge doing 40mph with the ice running at about a grand and no ev action showing on my engage display. I took it in for the "battery saver fiasco" They reset the battery monitor and reset the 1 touch up as some have also had. But like B25nut, my mileage has improved slightly also. My 20 mile commute is in the mid to high 40's now as opposed to low 40's. Things keep getting better. I just passed 2k on miles and unreset lifetime is just over 39 now. This shows its getting better all the time.

Thanks, and sounds good that yours is doing better! If something ever happened to my 2010, you can bet it will be replaced with a HyTi. :) Now with the temps getting warmer, the MPGs are bound to go up, already seeing a substantial increase on my 10, and I attribute some of that to having the 2013 and putting 8400 miles on it trying my best to eek out the miles, and now drive the 10 even more conservatively and it shows. It also translated into the non hybrid, I drove the Flex to work today, yeah to show it off :happy feet: :shift: and both trips I got over 20 MPG. Irony I saw 20 MPG and was :woohoo: , saw only 35 in the 13 and was :angry22:

Thanks, I think.

:)

I still obsess over the gas mileage, but at least now I know anything over 18.5 is a PLUS LOL. I do miss the Fusion, so looking forward in the next 3-4 years to when I can get another one to replace our current one. The Flex however, I am keeping that bugger, even if the headliner falls down! (better not!)

LOL, No offence, but I am not a fan of the Flex ..... :)

I think we have our Pontiac sold and we were going to be walking other than the Vettes (tough job I know), so I pulled my Bronco II back out of moth balls. What a great little 4x4. We will drive it as our daily until our HyTi comes in next month.

PS, The BII is kind of boxy too LOL

Like I said, I get to pick the course .... :)

A race track is kind of silly for a 4x4, you have to remember I live in one of the many mountainous areas of rural New Mexico. I have a little different perspective of four wheeling .... :)

This is where the pavement ends and the west begins ,,,, :D

I think the Flex will outperform a Bronco on this course, the guy driving it was his first time, and in a bare bones FWD model with fat tires, not stiffer low profile 20's.

Whole heartedly agree on that one, Ben out there in my F150. Would never take the Flex out on that. It's meant to get us comfortably from point A to point B, not climb a mountain! :)
