Ambient Lighting

I was wondering what people thought about the Ambient Lighting on the Titanium and is it on all the time or just when it's dark

From what I've seen (while test driving cars) you can turn it on or off or change colors through MFT. Don't know if it turns off on its own during the day.

In all the others that have it, it is on all the time, you control it from a dash button, or one inside the console. Have it in my 10, had it in my Sport, had it in the F150, and they all were like that.

I think the lights Wailer installed look better (see photo gallery), since they light up the console cubby and the foot wells, and cost less than $20. They are only blue (which is the only color I would want anyway) and are on whenever you turn the key. From what I've seen, the factory LEDs aren't nearly as bright,

I agree. I test drove an Energi Titanium today, turned on the ambient lights and couldn't tell they were on. Was only able to tell they actually turned on because I saw the reflection on the plastic flloor mat cover that comes with the new cars. This one had 24 miles on it!

Nope, it was around 6-7 PM :) I'm sure it looks better at night.

Here's a picture from the Fusion iPad app. It included the cup holders, which is no longer true, so not sure ow accurate this picture is.

I do remember seeing a Titanium at night late last year, and being very impressed with how it all lit up.

These threads and the pictures Wailer posted make me really want to add ambient lights to my SE. It's not too hard or expensive so why not? I'm really liking the blue, but the Hokie in me wants orange to go with my Bordeaux Reserve FFH...

Well if the HyTi is anything like the 13 Flex, the Ambients only come on when the outside lights are on. If they are controlled through MFT, you will get a kick out of the screen.

 

Oh, and those getting the HyTi, I hope the Sony is as good as what is in the Flex. Thump Thump Thump, Amish Paradise rocks it.

I plan to install some orange LEDs (the same way that Wailer did) tonight. If all goes well I'll post pictures!

Yes, well as a Virginia Tech Alum, I'd be wrong to feature another color on my Bordeaux Fusion. haha.

 

But also, because of the relatively low lumen output of orange and blue, I wanted to use one of those. So if the orange doesn't look good, I can easily go buy some blues for cheap.

It's going well. I have to finish mounting the lights tomorrow but the wiring is done. I'll be sure to take pics once it gets dark!

OEM Ambient lighting kit.

 

There is another site that I cant remember the name of that has these kits at a much lower cost. I got the parts for my 2010 Flex hitch from them a few year back.

Well now, That is different!

Yup, I like it. It's not overly bright, but it definitely changes the feel of the interior. Main thing is that it only cost me $22 and about 2-3 hours. For that price, I think the results are pretty great.
