Still learning to drive this car right. I guess it also helps that SoCal weather is getting warmer. In the 60s in the morning and up to high 70s in the afternoon. While driving normally, going 65 or higher, I got the best MPG in the morning commute at 51.1 MPG for 28 miles. During lunch time, I drove myself and a colleague to lunch a mile away. I almost made the entire trip in EV but had to use the ICE last second because some MBZ SUV was right up my ass. I got 134.9 MPG and the colleague was mighty impressed!

53 degrees this morning improved my commute by 4 mpg. I also did a one mile trip today that got 130+. But I also did a 3 mile trip Monday that got 26.

I was spending some unneeded money on Monday and Tuesday, I had plumbers digging up my front yard.

On a trip to the treasury to get some additional ingots of gold the head honcho plumber watched us drive away, luckily we had an iron clad price before the archeological dig began.

Tuesday, while in my garage paying him the final ransom amount, he mentioned that he was mightily impressed with the FFH, wanted to know all about it.

Said 'that car looks good from any angle, it's beautiful - what is it?". We chatted while he weighed the gold and bit the coins.

 

I could have been spared that compliment. I am very glad the garage door was closed when we negotiated the deal.

So I had a pleasure driving two very lovely ladies from work at lunch today. They could care less about all the gizmos that the FFH had or the MPG that I was getting. They did love how quiet the car drove, how comfortable the ride was and how good the sound system sounded. They both drive Lexus and they sure were impressed that this was a lowly Ford!

 

My morning commute was great. I got 53.4 MPG. However, my commute home was not so good at 40.7 MPG. But you know what, the average of today's MPG is 47.05, exactly what Ford said I can do in my FFH. I love this car!

Latest fill-up today was 10.7 gal. for 485 miles which yields an actual 45.3 MPG. Trip computer reported 45.6. This tank included several interstate runs at 70 mph. Lifetime actual is 43.0 mpg after 4800 miles, cars computer reports 44.1 mpg. I am pleased with the mileage I am getting without any extraordinary attempts to hypermile it.

Ha! that's great! I will have to remember that this summer. Great advice, keep the extra expensive looking car out of sight when getting prices from contractors. I like it!

If you subtract women, very few things on this planet can make this claim. Most new "super cars" have so many hard angles they can't be considered beautiful anymore.

Drive home in my 10. When I actually put an effort into it, it gets over EPA. This is 80% highway, with quite a bit uphill. Keep in mind, EPA is 36/41/39

Here's this mornings commute very little stopping since traffic was really light (March break here in Ontario). Drove between 90km - 115km/hr on the highway for the majority of the commute. Temp was -2*C (28*F). I did have the climate control on set to Auto 21*C

That's pretty darn good for -2C/28F temps! I bet the car has a different version of software for Ruby Reds that gives them better MPG....yep, must be.

The red gives us the better wind resistance = better MPG... LOL

 

I have to admit I was shocked when I saw those numbers because it felt that the ICE was on for most of the trip especially while on the highway. But hey, I'm not complaining!

If thats true, maybe I should just go get that Ruby Red Ti that the dealer has, and forget this Hybrid gooey. If that red color makes it get better MPG, maybe I can get 24 out of it. LOL

Any reason my 'Miles to E' would jump from 400 up to 510 in the middle of a 12-mile commute? I had 90 on the trip odo and it said 400 to e and then next time i checked it said 510 to E. By the time i got home, it showed 101 on the odo and like 465 to E...

The computer constantly recalculates the miles to empty while you are driving based on how you are driving.

And there's history involved, so maybe an especially bad trip fell out of the history window.

Hopefully its dumping a bunch of the colder weather trips, but its never done that before. In 1400 miles anyway.

If you look in the Engineering Test mode you can see an "Instant DTE" and a "Displayed DTE". Those numbers are as much as 20 miles apart in my experience. That is probably part of it. Depending on your history you could see large swings in the displayed DTE.

Hmm. It seems to be cruising at about 560 miles on the tank, which Im happy with. Seems like cold snaps want to come in every time it looks like its gonna be warm. 35° and breezy today and I got 44.5mpg to work and 43.5 back.

So, whoever at Ford thinks I cant drive a Hybrid, Kiss my hairy white knuckles. Highway trip today between 60-70 MPH, 34* temps and snrain(snow+rain).

Man I have got to get that dash cleaned, didnt notice how dusty it is until now. . Oh and BTW, its rated 36 MPG highway.
