What is in the 'gas' we use?

Recommended Posts

The discussion on fuel mileage and types of 'gas' we use has finally made me want to know more about what we pump into our cars at the fueling station.

Not being a chemist, math expert or engineer I need it explained in plain language.

This article does a pretty good job explaining what goes in the tank, and why.

Gasoline, benzene, ethanol, butane, detergents, oxygenators and octane boosters. More butane in winter than summer.
