Back seat cushion removal

I'm looking for help on how to remove the back seat so I have a little more cargo room for a cross country trip.

Are you referring to the lower back seat, as in the part you sit on? That might be possible but won't get you much additional space.

 

If you are referring to the entire back seat where you would then extend some stuff into the trunk area, I don't believe that's possible with the 2010-2012 Hybrids since that is where the HV battery is located. If you open the trunk you notice there's not much space but probably about 12-18" (my estimate) of closed-off space between the trunk storage and the back seat -- that's where the HV battery is located.

I"m looking to remove the part you sit on and maybe the backrest so I can get some larger packages into the car.
