'13 Fusion- My sync still have issues????

So according to some of the reseach I've done.. the my ford sync on the new '13 Fusions is still having issues, glitchy, and not very user friendly.. can anyone confirm or deny?

Not sure if related to your question, but the first issue I can report is that my phone will not stay synched! I have tested with different devices, Android (HTC Thunderbolt), iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. All devices will pair with no issues, but after some time, I will go to connect and it appears to not have the profile within Sync so the device would not connect until I go through the pairing again. I did not have this issue with my '12 Fusion

I have My Ford Touch in my 2013 C-Max and it works perfectly. Of course I've only had it for two weeks.

So far the only glitch is the screen sometimes doesn't respond to touch right away. OTOH it picks up really quick when I plug my iphone into USB and switches from the BT stream to USB. The Sync on the 2010 doesn't do that, and I have to fudge around with the phone to get it to work.

I went to put in an address today, and got MOU in, then the list of towns came up, but wouldnt scroll. Wound up having to use the voice commands to add in Mount Prospect.

 

Of course, today the damned weather map worked! Works when I don't need it, doesn't when I do. Sounds like some coworkers I knew.

We have old flip phones. Both were able to sync. I was surprised the old ones had bluetooth. We were planning to purchase new phones until they hooked up. Matter of fact, the FFH will sync to my phone from the attached garage when the phone is in the house, conveinent. Waiting for the MFT Ver 3.5.1 to come out for the systems with NAV. Not that I have any problems to address, I just like the screen of the power flow. Otherwise, mileage is still in mid 30's top 41 on a short trip staying below 62mph. I'm going to reset the lifetime MPG at 1000 miles. It's a great car so far: smooth, quiet and solid. That's my update so far. Blizzard suppose to be coming on Thursday so maybe the clay bar will come out.

If you dont have the latest 3.5.1 software and you do have Nav, just take it into your dealer and tell them you are having problems with myford touch and the Nav and tell them to update to the newest version and supply a new A4 Nav card. There is a TSB out for it, Dealer will do it if you take it in, or you can elect to wait until they make the update available via syncmyride website and send you a new A4 card.

 

 

Here is the TSB......dealer can not refuse to update the software or give you a new A4 card.....

Thanks for the PDF - when we took delivery of our 2013 FFH, it had the A3 card. Will call and see if the dealership has the A4 card so we can get the update. Had some issues early on with MFT, but it's worked ok after the first week or so (just some lag now).

Hybrid isnt included in that TSB yet. They only have the update for non NAV equipped Hybrids. I was very surprised when I was looking for the Hybrid screen and there wasnt one in either the Fusion or Cmax.

I have had problems with mysync as it quits hooking up to my ZUNE. At first it worked just fine. Not any more. Can't get it to hook up to it via USB anymore? WTF! And my ZUNE is Microsoft as it should sync easily since they system is microsoft.

Try resetting the SYNC system by pulling out the fuse and putting it back in. I think acii had a similar issue with his '10 where the USB ports lost power and resetting it fixed it.

 

It's not clear from your post if the USB ports still have any power or not. Does it work with other devices?

Try plugging in a USB flash drive with some songs on it, if it cant see that, reboot the system.

Asked dealer to install 3.5.1 MFT yesterday but they said they couldn't due to having NAV. They gave me a printout from Ford that stated the update will be available Q1. Now Q1 is almost over so we will see if they keep to that timetable.

Thanks for the advice. I will reset or pull the fuse I guess? I hope it's clearly marked. There is power because it powers my Zune but won't sync up for some reason. Question now is the NAV with my sync? Mine does not have the expensive touch screen one?

When I took delivery in early January my car had 3.5.1 and the salesman put the A4 card into the nav slot while I was standing there, and gave me the case. I assume it's a back-order of A4 cards with that dealer, or with many dealers?

I know cars before and after mine have A3 card. I have no idea why mine came with the update installed.

That is a darn good question, but I cant get mine updated either. Really ticks me off too. Its bad enough that no Applink is in there, but to not include the Hybrid screen? GRRRR

I agree, I believe the A4 card is FOR the navigation and has the map data. Like I noted in an above post, my salesman installed the A4 card for me during the delivery walk-around and feature demo stuff, then gave me the box for the card. Here is a pic of the case and see on the inside of the case it says it will be updated annually and phone numbers for info etc.

They need to install a new SD card for the NAV, which should be free from the dealership you bought the car from, and then they can update to 3.5.1. I got our local dealer to do this for me in December - and I didn't buy the car from them. Still had it done for free.

My dealer and syncmyride.com confirm there is another update. 4.0 which my car had when I bought it. That's just for my sync and not the my touch. There is an easier way to reset without pulling any fuses. I couldn't find the one for that anyway. I called the trouble shooting line this AM and reset it really easy. Just follow the prompts. I had to redo my cell phone setup but my ZUNE works again. They were very helpfull. :)
