We are the owner of a light Ice Blue 2011 FFH. We've owned two other hybrids (a Honda Accord and a Toyota Camry). This is our first Ford (and we've owned more than 25 cars in our lifetime). So far, from a performance angle, this one wins hands down. We're happy to continue to be part of the hybrid family in general and the Ford family in particular. Thanks for all your wonderful posts in this forum, we can relate to many of them.

Hey, I just bought the same color FFH yesterday. (My 2002 Taurus SEL developed sudden acceleration--while idling--and in order to keep from crashing the mile home, I probably burned out my 3rd set of brakes and wrecked the transmission trying to shift it into neutral. BTW, "driver error" and "stacked floor mats," my foot--even the tow truck driver struggled getting it out of my garage and up on to the flatbed, and the service dept. looked at it in terror as if I'd brought them a rabid dog. Oh, well, 9.5 yrs and almost 100K miles, can't really complain....except about the nearly 2 grand I threw at different problems last month). I've driven nothing but Fords since my first Escort wagon in 1981, and Tauruses since '87. My husband has an '05 Five Hundred AWD (now also called a Taurus). I went for all the bells & whistles--SYNC, visual assist, etc. Figured if I was going to have to give up cargo capacity (the battery takes up the entire back half of the trunk) I'd better get as much bling as I could. Drives beautifully, but have my hands full programming everything & discovering what it can do.

Glad to be here!

Hello all,

I just picked up my 2012 MKZ Hybrid today. I had ordered a 2011 back in April but the dealer said it would be delayed and I wound up with a 2012. I've only had Lincoln's starting with a 1958 Mark III Convertible as a young guy. After 11 cars this is my first new one. It's the White Platinum Tri-Coat with the 202A package. I'm looking forward to getting and sharing information on this forum.

I do not own a new model ford i would love to one day. I own 2 fords 1983 ford ranger and a 87 ford mustang. I just bot the ranger for $100usd from a friend ran like shit fixed it small misfire now thats all prob valves but its fine had under 80k on it spent 200 on fixing it current redoing the whole brake system. The 2nd ford is a 1987 ford mustang gt v8 ho 5.0 t top non leak over 200k 5 speed this ford and still runs good i bot it in 2007 with 165k on it what the previous owner told me . ive replaced so many things on this car manily because its age and weather in the northeast is horrible winters for older cars. i am about to rebuild my 1st frount end on it this year. I love the 302 motors ford made even tho this is fuel injected its still a 302. I am the only one in the family that own fords. my father has only owned olds and chevy (he hates) for the longest time . I am a master tech currently working in retail just graduated from collage with 2 AS degrees in automotive mgr and auto tech going to a 4 year collage now to get my bach degree in business. waiting for more business to pick up in the area i mostly do sidejobs now (thoses cummings diesels keep me going) in 2009 when ford hit under the 2 dollar mark i invested in ford wont say the amount but i sold when it hit the high range of 20 and recently bot it again in oct when it went down towards the $9 again. Ford is the only stock i own and will only will invest in.

I been eyeing the fusion for a while and love everything about it.

I have a 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid, with 53,000 miles. We traded a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid, with 214,000 miles, in on the MMH in June 2010. The MMH is much roomier, quieter and rides better than the HCH and gets gas mileage near that of the HCH. Our Lifetime MPG, figured at the pump is 41.44. The long term mpg on the dash shows a very optimistic 45.3 and has never been reset. We have loved this car since day one. BUT,,,, About 2 weeks ago, the Travel Link and Navigation stopped working. The dealer said the radio needed to be replaced and they would order it. The next morning, the dealer service writer called me back and said, no radios available anywhere, so they would have to pull mine out and send it in to be repaired. My extended warranty will pay for it, but I'm very disappointed that it is broken and makes me wonder, what's next. I guess the trouble free HCH spoiled me.

You were just not lucky with that problem and very luck with the HCH, I only have knowledge of two HCH from people I know and they have both had problems with them with far fewer miles than yours to include a new motor in one, just consider yourself luck and unlucky. All the problems in Japan right now are causing delays in many electronic accessories.

Thanks for the reply. You're right. I guess luck has something to do with it. They will eventually get mine fixed and then I'll be happy again. I just hope it doesn't take all summer. Was it the electric motor or the gas engine that had to be replaced in the HCH?

The gas engine and my mileage on the FFH was better than his on average. He could get better numbers on the highway but in town I could beat him by a good margin, but on average I was better. He now has an MKZ hybrid and loves it. The other person has just had numerous small things, window motor some other electrical problem.

The same mileage comparison on that one I am better all around and his is better on the highway. He easily gets high 40's on the road but low 40's in town. Both these two comparison HCH, cars have had numerous tanks in the 30's which I have yet to encounter. I only do math for mileage down to the tenth with no rounding numbers.

I might add I hope my good luck holds out I have close to 40k with not one issue other than a sun visor that did not like to stay clipped, they put a new clip under warranty and it now stays hooked tight. It was just a small annoyance that most people would probably never notice, but I can't stand to have anything no matter how small be wrong with my vehicles.

My last Ford Windstar went 380,000 miles with only normal wear items replaced, same engine and trans, and I was still getting 23 highway and 20 in town, which is almost identical to the Town and Country that replaced it.

My HCH was the best car I ever owned. The dealer replaced the EGR valve while it was still under warranty and I replaced the front brake pads at 180,000 miles. Other than that it was just tires, filters, oil and two 12 V batteries. Still had the original rear brake shoes, which were about ready to be replaced. Still had the original spark plugs. Lifetime mpg, calculated at the pump, was a little over 46 and still climbing, ever so slowly, at 214,000 when I traded it in on the MMH. Now we are spoiled to the larger MMH.

I see you are in OK. We live in Ponca City. Since we retired we spend our winters in Rockport TX. It's usually about 20 degrees or so warmer down here in the winter, but today was warmer up there than down here. Jokes on us today. LOL!

Looks like winter is just about over. We had a very mild winter no severe ice storms, and only a few snow days. We had hail and sleet yesterday and today the temps were in the 40's with rain.. A week or two ago we hit 80 one day and 20's the next day with snow. I'm in Altus and summers here go for months and never go below 100 with highs going up to 115 with 108 being very normal. My all time mileage is right at 45 mpg and climbing, if I could get my wife to drive with a lighter foot I have no doubt I could average 50's but I'm very happy with it as is. As long as my wife sees over 40 on the display she's fine with that, and she's always in a hurry.

Nice to meet everyone.. I would like to know if there are any out there with "old" FFH.. say from when they began production?

Good question. To those here, what year is your Fusion hybrid?

Hello, I am new to this forum. Here is a curious event that is puzzling.

I went to my garage yesterday morning to find the front driver's and passenger's windows completely in the down position, and the sun roof rear portion open. Of course I did not activate this combination before going to bed. This is a 2012 Fusion, with the navigation system and remote start, etc.. The car has operated perfectly since last year when I bought it. I also ran a vehicle health report and all systems are considered OK. The only change I have made since buying this car was to interface a new iPhone 5 to the communication system. I have not seen any recalls or circulars, etc..

Has anyone had their car seem to acquire a mind of its own and execute anything like this?

Thanks...

I researched and then read the operator's manual again and noted the Global open windows command that generated the event described above. Thus the mystery is solved and there were other interesting comments on other blogs and forums about this feature.
