Can't Chk ses due to blown fuse

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I just recently purchased an 06 Milan. Well I now have an engine light & when I took it to autozone they couldn't check it Because the cigarette lighter fuse was blown. So I checked both fuse boxes and there's no blown fuse????? So I tried searching on here n I'm stumped? If anyone can help out I'd appreciate it

Thanks

Jay

Common problem. The OBDII port is tied into the front power point circuit. I had this happen on my 06 Fusion when I tried to get an emissions certification.

Try #15 or #18 under the dash. It's definitely a blown fuse. Keep looking.

It could be a different fuse but there is definitely a fuse that provides power to the obd-II port and if the code reader doesn't work then that's almost guaranteed to be the problem. Recheck all the fuses or have it checked by a different store/mechanic. Maybe their OBD-II reader was bad.
