Oldguy16 Report post Posted November 3, 2010 Ok so there's a small cubby hole type of thing on my 2010 Fusion next to the glove compartment when opened. Using logic, i figured that this would be a perfect place for the owners manual, which doesn't fit. So i tried moving the manual around, still doesn't fit. Can anyone please tell me the purpose of this compartment? Or did Ford just throw in a random compartment for the hell of it?

Hi Oldguy. :D If it is the same cubbyhole as on the 2006-2009 Fusion/Milan/MKZ (to the right of the main glove box area), it is a CD compartment. Early ad copy on the Ford website actually mentioned it as exactly that, as does my copy of the 2007 MKZ brochure (if I recall correctly). I forget exactly how many, but about 5 or 6 commercial CD jewel cases will fit in that space (more of the slimmer CD-R cases will fit). And yes, I know it is too far from the driver to be reasonably reached, so don't try and figure it out. :headscratch: I (well, my wife :shades: ) don't use it for CD's, we use it to store a bunch of napkins/tissues for emergency cleanups. They fit perfectly. Hope this information helps. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited November 4, 2010 by bbf2530

I bet it would hold a ton of usb flash drives. I have a collapsible umbrella tucked in mine.-mort
Oldguy16 Report post Posted November 5, 2010 LOL! Yea um yea, that isn't really accessible by the driver, especially while driving. idk if there just isn't enough room behind it when Ford designed the car, but if that were for the owner's manual, that would be fantastic. Could you imagine how many usb drives could fit in there? That would be nuts. But thanks, I could not figure out what the purpose of that was. Ford probably threw it in there, then realized the owner's manual didn't fit and said it was for cd's.
