Remote Start Options on 2011 Manual

Hello,

 

Looking for an option to install a remote starter on a 2011 fusion manual transmission. Dealer says no way, because it is a manual. I'd rather try to use an OEM ford remote starter like 7L2Z-19G364-AA if possible. Any body know if it will work with a manual.

 

If the only way is to install an after market one, does anybody know of a good brand, that comes with a PATS bypass?

Also, I think in 2010 or 2011 Ford switched the PATS encryption from 40 bit to 80 bit. If that is true, I am not aware of a PATS bypass kit that exists. I guess we also have to be careful when ordering after market keys for 2010 or 2011 models.

Only a few RS work with the 2011 due to MyKey.

 

One thing we don't like about the RS on the 2011 vs 2010 we had is: The car shuts off when you open the door. MyKey info says it is a "safety" item.

 

Our 2010 did not turn off when you open the door.

I had the same thing with my 2011 with ford RS. Brought it into the dealer, a mechanic came out and programmed it (using the brake pedal and some switch), so that it doesn't shut off when the door opens. Apparently it has something to do with whether it's installed from the factory, or by a dealer.
