3 non-obvious things for new owner 2011 Fusion

Recommended Posts

I'm picking up my fusion tomorrow.

What are 3 things that might not be obvious to a new fusion owner?

How 'bout 3 tips & tricks, or things I should know?

Thanks,

Mike

Did you get Sync? 'Her' volume can be annoying, but the trick is to set her volume once while she's talking. The Sync volume is different than the stereo but related to the phone volume. So if you have to turn up the volume to hear the phone well, then she will scream at you if you don't turn her down after the phone call is done, but before she starts screaming. I guess you can crank your phone volume up, but then your phone will be too loud when used normally....

Also, I found the car 'ringtones' are all super loud, so I just turned the car ringtones to silent, and when someone calls, your stereo goes silent, and your phone rings.

If you have foglights, then unless they got someone new on the assembly line to adjust them, they are set WAY too low. Get the dealer to fix them, or it's not bad if you are a little mechanically inclined and have a set of ramps.

Good question, BTW!

I don't know how much of the forum you have had a chance to read but I would listen very closely for the sloshing sound many have experienced with the 2010 models, assuming you're picking up a 2011. (See the General Powertrain Discussion for more info). Look at the temp gauge, if it's at normal operating temp, that means the salesman took the car out to fill it up or test drive it to make sure it was ready to go. If he or she did that, the noise may not be as noticeable, listen closely on the passenger side under the glovebox. I'm trying not to believe they would intentionally warm the car to eliminate the sloshing sound. Good luck with your new ride.
