I think that is the one i got. it says powercode remote start and nothing about bi-directional.

Stopping the engine when the door opens makes it harder for someone to steal your car.

If someone was trying to steal the car when it was remote started wouldn't they still need the key?

Yes, as soon as they step on the brake to put the tranny in gear the engine dies. I'm sure there are other safe guards too.

The car shutting off is a change for 2011 due to the MyKey program. :headspin:

 

There is no way to turn that "safety" feature of :finger: f.

Confirmed by my dealer. They even had to revise the manual. I don't think this was an intentional design, just one team of engineers not talking to another team. Oops. :finger:

 

It certainly is not the way remote start was intended. To shut off when you get into the car? No. When you step on the brake to shift into gear, yes, but not when entering the car.
